Some great rooms with views available.

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Very clean, modern, delicious breakfast and lovely staff.
Location: Very central. Attractions and restaurants within walking distance. The temples very wonderful.
We did not like our initial room as it looked straight onto a rooftop with dead plants and broken pots. The staff happily offered another room with a balcony and beautiful views of the city and river.

Great location but little character

Posted Jul 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
This hotel was previously part of a Western chain so it has the typical faceless decor making you feel you could be anywhere in the World. Having said that, the location was great and the staff were attentive and friendly and could not be faulted. The rooms are dated, and personally I've never liked this fashion for having a window between bathroom and bedroom - not great when the privacy blind isn't long enough (or broken) and you're sharing with a friend! The AC seemed to be faulty and we could not get the room to maintain a comfortable temperature meaning we were freezing most of the time. The breakfast was extensive - probably the best spread we had in Vietnam, but next time we are in Hue we will probably choose somewhere with a little more character. The views from the upper floor bar were magnificent, but the talent comp - or karaoke night? - being held meant we retreated elsewhere for a quieter drink.

Two night stay

Posted Jun 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
This hotel is in a great location and was really good value for what we paid. We had a corner room on the 10th floor. It was a large room and had a view over the river. It was worth paying a little bit extra for a corner room as it had a view out two sides. It also had a couch and an electric toilet :) The breakfast is gòod. Lots of choice. There is a nice swimming pool as well. There are several bars and restaurants close by and also a couple of clothes shops who will make clothes for you. I had some shorts and a top made and both are well made. I didn't intend to have clothes made but when they didn't have my size they said they would make them for me. I went into the shop at 10am and picked them up at 8pm. Our only gripe with the hotel was the bar on the 11th floor. We went up to have a drink and watch the sunset before dinner. We waited ages for our drink and when it eventually came they had put ice in husbands beer glass. He told them he doesn't take ice with is beer and he wanted another glass. We then realised why they had given him ice. When he opened the beer, it was extremely warm and not drinkable. He ended up going back to our room and brought back a beer from our mini bar. The reason the drinks took so long was that they must have been looking for a cold beer. When we went to leave we needed to sign the bill. There was not a staff member to be found. We even opened the door out the back of the bar to look. We went back to our room and about 15 minutes later we got a call to say we hadn't signed for our drink. Apart from the bar, I highly recommend this hotel. It was probably one of the best rooms we stayed in on our trip. The location is excellent. We loved Hue. We stayed 2 nights and one full day. There are several travel agents close to the hotel and we used one to arrange a half day private tour of the tombs, citadel etc and they also took us by private car to Hoi An the next day- via the Hai Van Pass. $54.

Great Location Nice Hotel

Posted May 25, 2014
Pros: The location and view
Cons: Thicker walls to escape the other hotel guests talking
Location: Royal Palace, Citadel. Da Nang by private car a must
This hotel was excellent in every way by noise wise. The hotel had other foreigners staying and they could be heard very clearly on the floor outside and inbetween walls. The hotel was excellent in cleanliness, food and staff. The first night we stayed we had an earthquake (very unusual for the area), that was an experience being six floors up. We come from NZ so know what to expect. The selection at breakfast was excellent and the food outstanding. It is located very close to the Royal Palace and this is a must to see. You can travel by boat, bike or taxi to the Citadel, it is up to you. The hotel porch is an interesting place to sit and enjoy drinks while watching the city life around you. The staff will cater to you needs. We took a private car out to Da Nang this is a must to do, the sights and views are amazing. There is a company that supplies this just across the street from the hotel. They are excellent.

Great location close to the river, Royal Palace and tourist area. Clean rooms and pleasant helpful staff. I also stayed at the Muong Thanh in Da Nang. Both great deals.

Excellent place to stay in Hue

Posted Sep 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
We were only in Hue for one night, but after a long overnight train ride from Ho Chi Minh, this place was like paradise. They were very accommodating about holding on to our luggage while we went sightseeing and the service was generally excellent. The breakfast was one of the best of our whole trip, and for people who plan primarily around their stomachs, that's important. I'd recommend this hotel and Hue to anyone.

Pros: Welcoming and accommodating, great way the bath is set up.
Great , we arrived and asked for a move to a room with 2 beds as travelling with a child and no problems. Everyone so polite and obliging. Very helpful at the pools side getting our child fitted with floatation devices. Welcoming and accommodating .
