Stunning Views and Fresh Juice!Posted May 31, 2013
Pros: Views from the room and restaurant, spacious rooms,
Cons: Stuffy Hallways, WiFi signal did not span entire room, sometimes rickshaw drivers would be hovering out front,
Location: Very central between the two main bridges to the citadel, not too far from restaurants
We got a room with two double-beds on the 6th floor shared by two couples. The view was spectacular. It was possible to see the cityscape and the river from our location on the West side of the building. Looking directly down next door revealed a derelict construction site with little activity. I've seen previous reviews mention construction now being an issue but that's not an issue currently. The room itself had a balcony and was spacious with the fittings being reasonably modern. The room is RFID accessed and powered so we couldn't even leave a low powered fan on to keep the room cool when out and about and because the room was quite large, the A/C did take a while to bring the heat down. Two issues unique to our room: the sidetable lamp had a broken cord which had been repaired unsuccessfully with tape. The fan we were provided with was a portable one that wasn't intuitive to use, yet we are aware that other rooms have typical wall-mounted fans. Having said that, these were minor quibbles. The beds were quite comfy, the inclusion of a desktop PC in the room was welcome (although it had pirate software on it so be careful), wifi was freely available, the views were great and the free breakfast, although nothing flashy was reasonable (the juice was fresh and non-sugary). The restaurant itself was on the 9th floor and offers a near-360 view of the city, It was a great and central spot to stay in Hue and I'd stay again.

One of the best values in HuePosted Jan 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
Honestly, Thai Binh 2 was perfect. It's super easy to get to - the bus from the airport will take you straight to the hotel. Rooms are spacious. The staff were all kind and helpful. Breakfast was plenty good, too. Best of all, the hotel is right in the middle of everything. I walked everywhere, and when I couldn't, I just rented a bike from the hotel.

Positives: Large, beautifully furnished room in very clean condition, with balcony and nice view. Breafast served on top floor with marvelous views. Negatives: Balcony was shared with adjacent room so that if you go onto it, you are in front of their door. Staff was inattentive, pushy about booking tours, and frequently left the front desk completely unattended. This meant we had trouble getting our room key when coming in, and guests' passports were left unguarded in an open drawer. Breakfast was mediocre but adequate.

Good location - value for moneyPosted Dec 18, 2012
Pros: Very good value for money
Cons: Not enough towels provided in the rooms
Location: Really good location - within walking distance of everything
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights whilst we were travelling in Vietnam. The hotel is in a good location, close to the main street and withing walking distance of the things to see in Hue. The room was really big with a balcony which was nice. Breakfast had lots of choice - served on th top floor of the building with great views of the city. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The only thing I didnt like about the hotel was not having enough towels (only 1 per person) and no bath mat. When we returned to our room one night there was a cockroach on the bedside cabinet although I do not blame the hotel for this as the room was very clean.

Great servicePosted Nov 24, 2012
Pros: Comfortable beds, balcony, service
Cons: Breakfast on the first morning was a bit crap, the second morning they had a buffet which was great.
Location: Very close to the river. Near the action but on a quiet street
This hotel was great. It was clean and comfortable. The balcony afforded great views over the city. We took a day tour organised by the hotel and it was great. They also organised a private car to take us to Hoi An at a very reasonable price. We stopped off at various points along the way and saw some great scenery. They also recommended and helped to book us into a very nice hotel in Hoi An. The day after arriving in Hoi An I realised that I had left my hat (I really like my hat) and sunglasses in the private car, after a phone call they arranged to have it dropped off to me. Fantastic!

This hotel was nothing special nor was it horrible. Basic breakfast was included, we hired bikes and the internet was good. The receptionist did rip us off though when we used them to book our overnight bus.

Good value for the pricePosted Dec 31, 2011
Nice room and location. Good value for the price. Very helpful staff. Breakfast a bit on the poor side with some lack of cleanliness
