Quiet hotel

Posted May 27, 2014
Cons: It would be good to offer a bit more Western food on the breakfast buffet. I couldn't get the internet to work in the bedroom, only in the lobby.
Location: Very quiet location. You have to walk down a small lane to get to the hotel. Short walk to restaurants.
I stayed here in April 14 with my son. The hotel and room were basic, but clean and good value for money. The hotel was very quiet, I stayed 2 nights and only saw about 3-4 other people. The staff were keen to help me book a car and driver when i told them I was heading to Hoi An next. One of the staff on reception (or the owner, manager...not sure who he was) told me it would probably be him that was driving. Once I'd booked the driver at a cost of sixty five dollar for me and my son, this man asked me to share the car with another hotel guest, who he said would pay just 10 as he couldn't afford anymore. I wasn't too keen but once I'd worked out who it would be and spoke to this man, I agreed he could share the car. I told him we'd be making a few stops along the way as we weren't in any rush. This put the guy off and he decided to take the bus instead. When we set off I was surprised when another man turned up to drive us. Shortly after getting dropped off at my hotel in Hoi An I realised that I had left my brand new iPhone in the car, so I asked the Hoi An hotel to call the Hotel Vina and asked if they could contact the driver to see if he'd found the phone. The Vina advised that the driver hadn't found the phone. A few days later I emailed the Vina to ask if the manager would send me an email confirming that I'd contacted them about the phone, as I needed this for my insurance. I contacted the hotel a few times but they never bothered replying.

A nice view over the river

Posted May 7, 2014
The rooms at higher floors (over the 4'rd) have a beautifull view over the Parfume River. The hotel is not so busy, so you will not have a problem to find one. All rooms are big, clean and have huge windows, this is rare in Vietnam. Location is good, close to the restaurants area and quiet. The staff is nice, but no one speaks english. The bell boy is kind of pushy and annoying. For traveling is better to use a travel agency in the center.

Good location

Pros: Clean rooms, friendly staff and location
Location: Restaurants are close by and the bridge is approximately 5 minute walk.
Great hotel , clean, good location, friendly staff and comfortable bed. The staff were all willing to assist you with all enquiries. We would highly recommend this hotel to stay here as close to all restaurants and in a good spot.

Very good value and good location

Pros: Quality of the rooms and excellent service from the staff
Cons: Quality of the buffet-style breakfast, to cater a little more to western palates.
Location: Good location down quiet lane and very close to the river and the main tourist centre. Easy walking to The Citadel.
The rooms at the Vina are large and very clean. The showers are plentiful and hot. The service from the staff is extremely helpful and pleasant at all times. Unfortunately while we were there the weather was very poor and there were few tourists about which did not make for a great atmosphere. We did not find the breakfast buffet very inspiring - it was nearly all local Vietnamese style dishes which did not particularly suit us for breakfast. I saw no evidence of evening meals. The other slight negative is that we were rather looking forward to sampling the spa which looked great on the website. It seemed to be closed and cold when we looked for it so did not pursue it. However, I would still recommend Vina Hotel for the quality of its rooms, great location and good service. It is remarkably good value.

Nice enough that I returned to use it again

Pros: Quiet and comfortable beds, good breakfast selection and great staff that has a desire to make your stay enjoyable.
Cons: The upper floor has an oder of what I can only describe as Pinesol cleaner, so stick with the lower 4 floors and you will be very satisfied.
Location: It is located just a crossed the river from a Mall and downtown. The Citadel, Kings Tomb and historical Buddhist Watts are located in the area.
We, my wife and I and daughter and husband, both stayed there as we explored Hue on our way to Hoi Ann. When we returned to fly out of Hue, we stayed again at the hotel a we found it comfortable with a hotel staff that is wanting to please and professional. It is located close to the main section of town but most importantly at the end of a narrow and blind alley so that it is quiet and gives you a great night sleep.

Fantastic Freindly Service

The best thing about this hotel is definately the staff. Always welcoming and attentive. The staff were excellent in their recommendations for local attractions, food and and organising tours. The tours especially were organised in a short time frame and at very reasonable prices when compared with other operators. The room we stayed in was comfortable although it looked a bit dated with scuff marks on the walls and a few stains on the bed cover. The breakfast had a good selection too. In terms of location it was probably a good 15 to 20 minutes walk to the Citadel but the surrounding locale had plenty of restaurants close by. Overall highly recommended when in Hue.
