This hotel is a little hard to find as the signage is not yet in place, but they talked us in (in broken English but a good heart!). You have to take your own luggage to and find your room, but then we found an extremely spacious family room with a great view. It could easily have slept another person (we are 2 + 2 tots). The pools are uncrowded and very clean. No scramble for sunbeds either. Everywhere seemed clean and spacious. Food was fine, and plenty of it. Watch out though - we flew into Faro where there is no time difference to the UK, then drove to Cartaya. It was only after 3 days we found out that Spain is an hour different, and we met others who'd been there longer and were still unaware - so were late for kids clubs, meals, entertainments. How frustrating - a clock at reception would have solved this. However, most visitors by far were Spanish, which we loved, as it made it far less 'touristy' and made us all (including our two year old) try out our Spanish! Nice beaches too, and a beautiful location. Well worth a visit.

The complex is well laid out and well maintained. We have only been in the out of season period when the complex is very quiet, the pool closing for the winter on 30Sept each year. The grounds are kept immaculate and appear to be very child friendly. The complex has direct access to the very clean beach. This is ideal for young families but older children would be very bored. The reception desk is only manned at certain times and not at all out of season, however Leo Apartments have a central facility just a 5min walk into town.As long as you are aware of these times it is not a problem. Would we stay again? Certainly, we have already stayed twice, due to the quiet serenity of the complex and the whole area. Why have I only scored it 4 and not 5, because I never regard anything as being perfect, but for us it is pretty close.

great resort for sporting folks but a remote resort in a tiny hamlet. it is around a mile from the tiny village which is lovely but transport links are not good so does demand either a hire car or being able to walk
