“Nice clean rooms and cheap”
We stayed for two non-consecutive nights during the Thanksgiving holiday. The desk staff was quick and courteous. The room ( and as I understand, most of the rooms) have been recently renovated. The room was clean and comfortable with nice clean sheets, and the bed was not too hard and not too soft - the less expensive hotels tend to go one way or the other. There is good coffe in the morning when you check out but no other type of refresment or breakfast. The expanded cable as advertised was mostly espn channels, but that is ok if you are into it. we were there to sleep anyway. There was no commotion or partying inside or out so it made for a quiet, comfortable stay. A good value if you just want to lay your head down and then get up in the morning and go.
“Not bad..not great”
Clean rooms, easy highway access. The towels were horrible...thin and rough.
“Impressed”
I was very surprised & impressed with the hotel overall. The room was very clean & well maintained. It was convienent off of the interstate. The lobby was clean & the man at the desk was very helpful finding somewhere for dinner. It was very quiet at night. This was a business trip & we had never been in the area before. If staying in the area again I will be back.
“Pleasantly surprised! Highly reccomended.”
This hotel was a pleasant surprise. It is in the same parking lot as the Days Inn and it looked much nicer! The staff were very friendly, our room was clean and we had a fridge and microwave! I loved that they have WiFi in the room if you needed it, nice desk and lamp. To boot, it is a pet friendly environment! The next time we go, we will be taking our dog. If you're looking for a clean, modern, and quaint place to rest your head, this is the place to go.
“Will stay there again.”
My wife and I stayed there so we could visit the Huntington Mall for both days. I have to use a cane so I can't get around the whole mall in one day. The room was nice. It appeared it had been recently renovated and that was nice. The only food within "walking distance" is McDonalds but there is plenty within a 5 min drive and if you want to drive a little farther then there is alot more.
“good area for amenities”
The hotel had been recently remodeled, so the carpet was realtively new and the bathroom and tile were very nice. The hotel was farther from downtown than expected, and therefore required a drive to get to town, but the restaurant availability was good and the relationship to the highway was good. If you were interested in the college area, this is a bit far away.
“Red Roof Huntington”
Room was recently remodeled, friendly and helpful desk person, fine play to stay when travelling across country. Getting to hotel entrance a little confusing, though.
“Red Roof Inn in Huntington”
The hotel was ok - was surprised to see a hotel with exterior halls and stairs, hotel was generally old and worn tho clean. BUT - when I left to leave early the next morning somebody had tried to break into the cap on the back of my truck. Broke one lock off and dinged up all around the second lock tryign to pry it off I'm guessing with a screwdriver. That has NEVER happened anywhere. The neighborhood did not look great but not so bad, either. I won't risk staying there again.
“Will try someplace else next time”
A giant towering sign made it easy to see where the motel was, from the highway, and it's convenient to exit 15 from I-64, but it was a bit of a hassle to figure out that you get in and out of the parking lot by driving through the parking lot of the adjacent Day's Inn. I drove around the back of the property looking for a separate entrance, but there isn't one. Neighborhood is grim and cheerless. No restaurant attached to either motel, only a McDonald's on the same side of the highway. It was clean, not cramped, good water pressure, the wireless worked perfectly and so did the room safe, but there was no coffeemaker in the room. No problem at check-in but I was surprised at check-out when the person at the counter insisted “we don’t give no receipts.” On this particular trip it didn't matter to me (I had prepaid on a credit card), but what if I'd been traveling on business, and needed their receipt to document expenses? In future I'll avoid the Red Roof Inn and the adjacent Day's Inn, and look for accommodations off one of the other Huntington exits. I didn't feel especially safe in that neighborhood.
“Red Roof Huntington”
I have always stayed at another local chain hotel in the past, The Red Roof Inn room was much nicer, cleaner and did not have a musty odor like the other hotel. Price wise they are equal. I did think the cost was a bit more than it should be for the region/location. After all Huntington, WV is not a booming metropolis.
