“The Hampton Inn has just lost my preferred status!”

Dear Marriott Decatur (AL) & Expedia: Your staff made this stay exceptional. My sister and I are both smokers; I understand it is a dreadful and unhealthy habit, but face it, for some reason (called addiction) they continue to be sold at every convenience store in our country. After our first night, I requested to be moved to a room with a balcony so we didn't have to go outside to the gazebo every time we wanted to smoke. The request to move us to a room with a balcony was cheerfully accomplished. The weather was so accommodating we even stayed on the balcony even while we weren't smoking. I can't give the Courtyard Marriott credit for the weather, I can give them credit for the pleasant surroundings. Had I known the quality of the breakfast being offered for $10 a guest, I would certainly opted for that service. Initially I had reservations about charging a fee for what is usually provided gratis, but upon seeing the offering my skepticism disappeared. You should increase the promotion of that service. While travelling for my employer before my retirement, I would have appreciated staying at my hotel for a good yet modestly priced breakfast. Two things kept you from getting my highest recommendation on everything. The first room had a faulty air conditioner. Likely as not, had the season not be in the process of changing, its malfunction would have been reported and repaired prior to our visit. The second flaw, our balconied room was not equipped with a refrigerator.

“Worth every penny”

Excellent hotel with a very friendly staff. The lobby is beautiful, breakfast extremely good and the room was comfy, spacious and clean. Decatur is a little drive from Rt 65 but worth the few extra minutes it takes to get there. Lots of places to eat and fuel up the car, too.

“Fine hotel”

Decatur Courtyard Marriott was fine. Hotel was clean. Rooms were clean. Bed was comfortable. Hotel staff were pleasant. Breakfast was not included, but was reasonable at $7.95 for the 'all you can eat' breakfast (kids were $4.95). Indoor pool was on the small side.

“Very Good Hotel and Very Convenient”

I stayed here on a recent business trip. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was very good and reasonably priced. The location of the hotel is very convenient and easy to find from the Huntsville Airport. The nearby restaurant was just okay. It's supposed to be known for great steaks. I wasn't impressed at all. Food was marginal and overpriced.

“Nice Place”

We stayed at this hotel for just one night while on our way to FLA, I would stay here again if the need arose. One drawback, we thought that the breakfast that was offered in the lobby was too expensive for what was offered. We ended up at IHOP... not impressed with that either.
