Perfect family weekend getaway

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Activities
Cons: Rooms are old and even though we believed we were booking a renovated room, it was not. No fridge in the room? The show & food are overpriced.
Great Facilities for young children - especially the lake activities, aqua park and paddle boards, beach, kayaks. The pools were not crowded, large and clean. Food was expensive but very good. Beautiful place. Checking out was a bit of a hassle because of silly rules around towel service. Not cheap but a really nice weekend getaway. Our kids loved it and the show was a fun way to top off the night.

Nice Resort ... Relaxing and clean

Posted Aug 5, 2014
It was just me and my husband visiting .. And it was fun and relaxing . The resort had a very high occupancy and there weren't enough kayaks and canoes . People were taking them for hours ... Another thing is the fact that they never had enough towels . I was told to come after 20 mins and when I went back they were out again ! The staff was good and the facilities were well maintained overall though !

cost associated are inconsistent with service

Posted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: The beach front
Cons: Customer service, price points
We came from a nice day trip from Santa's village. My children’s first impression of Deerhurst was impressive. The kids couldn’t take their eyes off the deer waterfall statue at the entrance. We were equally impressed with the common room in building we stayed in. After a long day of walking we were hoping to let the kids unwind with some TV time but unfortunately found out both remote controls didn’t work and the channel reception was poor quality. We decided to go for a swim in the indoor pool but had to wait an extra 30 minutes to get our towels when finished. Apparently there were no towels available when we went to the activities desk. The following day and the main reason for our stay, was to allow our young children to enjoy a few hours at the outdoor Splash Zone. From the beach, we could see the Splash Zone and our family was excited to get started on the large inflatable slide, trampolines and obstacle courses but when we swam out to the area we discovered a few families of ducks occupied a number of inflatables. My husband did his best to politely usher the ducks off the inflatables but realised it was pointless, as the occupied areas were covered in duck poop. It was too much for one person, without the proper equipment, to remove by splashing. Essentially half of the inflatables were unsanitary and unattractive to use which was a huge problem for our eager 4 year old boy.

Weekend Get Away!

Posted Jul 27, 2014
We have been there before and it is a good central spot where we can golf in the morning and then enjoy what the area has to offer in the afternoon. We were in the main building and had two queen beds. It was clean and decor was pleasing. We had free WiFi. They had a good breakfast buffet with good variety. We enjoyed Steamers Resataurant. Friday's there is live entertainment. The food was very good and the service was great. It was a busy night so we knew service was going to be slow but it did not both us. It made for a long liesurely dinner. I have not problem suggesting the Resort. It has more to offer but we only stayed 2 nights.

Nice hotel located right on the lake with amenitie

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: great location near the water and close to Huntsville
Cons: Hotel needs sprucing up with some fresh paint throughout
Location: Rented jet ski's at neighboring Hidden Valley waterfront since hotel does not offer this activity
Hotel is nice but certain areas require updating. We booked a 1 bdrm suite and had to change to a Summit suite (smailler) since the 1 bdrm suites overlooking golf course was really dated and was if we entered in a 1990 hotel room . However, the Summit 1 bdrm suite was newly renovated. Entire hotel could use some fresh paint and a little spucing up. Staff was pleasant and the show was excellent!

Nice hotel for a family stay

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: Large, great surroundings, lots to do
Cons: Some areas on the lower level, like the locker rooms and the way to the elevator, have been 'forgotten' for a while.
Location: Close to Huntsville and Algonquin Park.
At the arrival our room wasn't ready yet at the check-in time, so we had to wait an hour. When we got into the room, we all were excited. It was great! Although we booked for five people, there was four of everything; cups, plates, towels etc. Never the less we had a pleasant stay. Our 'neighbours' also had kids, but we never heard anyone.

Comfortable hotel in a beautiful town.

Stayed here for a very relaxing weekend. Went to the show - annoyed that a corporate party were given priority seats and made more welcome than ticket buying guests!

I stayed at the resort for my nieces wedding. The wedding was held on the beach...though the weather was questionable the sun shone just in time for her wedding.A lovely place to hold a wedding...the water lapping against the shore and a wonderful view of the lake. The brunch after was fabulous. I arrived early the day before, yet my room was ready!. A huge relief for me as I had travelled from a training session and had not been home for the previous 6 days. I needed somewhere to relax and I got it. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was clean, spacious and quiet. Though I did not stay over on the Saturday night, a bonfire on beach was arranged thru the resort for the wedding guests staying until Sunday. A great way to top off a wedding day and touch base with family members who don't see each other often enough
