“Holiday Inn Downtown Huntsville”
This was a really nice hotel, just a block or so from the Von Braun Center, across from the Embassy Suites and a lot less cost than the Embassy. The beds were really comfortable and the service was great. Only thing they need to improve on is to be sure vending machines are stocked with water bottles. Also, there is complimentary coffee during the week but not on weekends. They should extend coffee service all week.
“Bed needed Replacing”
We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Downtown Huntsville in October, 2011. The location and amenities were great. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet. But our room was not comfortable. The bed sagged, the mattress really needed to be replaced, and the easy chair was also very hard and uncomfortable. The carpet was dirty and worn, and also needed to be replaced. The morning we left there was a huge dead roach in the bathroom. We like the location, but next time we'll stay somewhere else.
“Other options in same area”
The hotel staff failed to setup the pay TV account upon checking. One of the security doors to the hotel would not lock. The decor is dated. Security doors between hotel lobby and pool area require card entrance from inside the hotel and are very inconvenient. There are other less expensive more modern options in same area.
“Would stay at this hotel again!”
The hotel was very clean, comfortable and well decorated. It was so convenient to the locations that we visited downtown --- actually within walking distance! The staff was friendly and helpful. It was a very positive experience, and we would select this hotel again!

“great location in Huntsville”
I was in town for a friends wedding (that was taking place downtown) and not only was this one of the most convenient hotels in the area as far as location, but also one of the best values. I would definitely stay there again if I'm ever back in Huntsville!
“older hotel”
The hotel was older and you could tell as soon as you get into the room. Plus I had a smoking room that smelled terrible. The bathroom was not very clean and had mold around some of the fixtures. I would recommend somewhere else if at all possible. The only good thing about this hotel was that it was right across the street from the convention center.
“A mixed bag”
I was there during a cold spell. The only heat came from a floor heater, with no thermostat, and it was not putting out enough heat. After I complained, maintenance made it better, but it still didn't keep the whole room warm. They did offer to move me, but I didn't take them up on the offer. The in-room wireless internet in the room was unreliable, but the computers in the business center worked well. The staff was very friendly, and the bed was comfortable. The restaurant was okay.
