“It's okay.”

My son & I were in Huntsville for a college visit. The neighborhood that the hotel is in is a bit run down but I didn't fee unsafe. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The TV was old school and the towels were a bit on the rough side. The breakfast was the reason we stay at a HIExp - and it was the quality we've come to expect, complete with cinnamon rolls! In our past travels with soccer, we've generally stayed at HiExp for the value. We've stayed at bad ones and we've stayed at fabulous ones - this one was in the middle.

“Holiday Inn Express Service and Staff Quality, Super 8 building quality.”

Picked the Holiday Inn Express over the regular Holiday Inn because in my hometown, the Holiday Inn is more run down than the HI Express. In Huntsville it appears to be opposite. Hotel is like 22 yrs old and used to be a HI that changed to a HIE. The Staff was very friendly and offered to move us to another room due to a Internet issue in our part. Everything felt Holiday Inn Express-like, but the building was very run down and in need of dire repair. My thought is the building needs bull dozed and a new one built. Would not stay here again as for the price, the room felt like a much lesser quality place.

Area recommendations

I would recommend the regular Holiday Inn over this one. Same price, looked nicer from outside.

“Definitely recommend! Great breakfast.”

This is an older building, but has been kept up nicely. The rooms were better than the hallways and landings. The only negative is no elevator. The breakfast buffet was great. It is not a chef type buffet, but did have pre-made omlets, biscuits and gravy, sausage, pancakes, cereal, donuts, rolls and pastries, bagels, fruit, juices, milk and coffee - all you can eat. There were also a lot of vending machines. No microwave or refrigerator in the room, but it was still a good stay. If in the area again we will definitely stay there again.

“Great Stay, good location.”

Extremely clean & neat. Personnel friendly and helpfull with overall great attitude. Ammenities such as breakfast and convenience items were very nice, good food at the restaurant and meet the manager cordials was a nice touch. Many good restaurants nearby...Rosey's Cantina ~5mi West is a must stop!

Area recommendations

The section where this hotel is, isn't the greatest but they more than make up for that with all the ammenities and how well maintained it is. It is close to the Space Museum and other site seeing opportunities.
