“HUNTSVILLE GETAWAY.....”

My wife and I had a terrific weekend stay at the Holiday Inn in Madison. Will stay there again on my next visit.

“Very good for the price”

The hotel was very clean and our room was neat as well. The staff were all friendly and helpful. One issue I had with our room was that the majority of the bulbs were blown and one of the outlets was also not working, so definitely check that whenever you check into your room! We ate dinner at the restaurant in the hotel and it was good, about what you would expect for the price. Except for the fries that were like what I used to eat in the cafeteria at school. I would suggest the rice instead which was excellent. The waiter recommended a few drinks for me since I'm not a very experienced drinker. He got the prices wrong and I ended up paying a bit more than I expected.. So double check on that if you're a big drinker.. We ordered breakfast to be delivered to our room. We each got omelets and they were definitely worth the price! Probably the best omelet I've had in a very very long time.

Family-friendly activities

We went to the botanical gardens during this trip and it was a pretty good for a quiet afternoon with my partner. I wish we had come during a different season though.. However the water gardens were incredibly beautiful. I would recommend this for families because they generally have events planned for the children throughout the year.. During this trip they had tree houses set up all over the gardens that kids could play on and they also had their butterfly garden still up and running.

“Clean ... but needs some attention to amenities!”

Pluses- Clean - close to gov. facilities. I've stayed here several times now. Negatives-The only complaint I have is that on three occasions (happened in different rooms) the flat iron either did not work at all or spit water all over you clothes when being used! As a business traveler we are always in need of pressing our outfits for the day. Get new Flat Irons and put them in all rooms!

“Pool freezing in april”

We payed extra to get a hottub, but it ended up being a smaller tub with two jets in it. Not worth it. We were told the pool was heated and it was open 24 hours a day. Not the case. Pool was ice cold and security guard came to the door at 9:59 and told us to get out of the hot tub. However, the hot tub was very nice. Front desk was very nice and got us in a better room inside(which we had paid for as well). Breakfast buffet didn't look worth nine bucks a person, but the waffle house one block away is much better!!
