“ordinary. Seek the sheesha cafe”
We enjoyed our stay at the Blue Lagoon, which was affordable but not the all-inclusive we expected, as there were many limitations as what was contained in the all-inclusive package. It was also a continuous barrage of tour packages, spa massages and diving peddlers everywhere from the pool to the lobby which were rather aggressive in their sales pitch. A very clean and new hotel, it had no hint of anything Egyptian, and could have been a resort anywhere in the world. Our most enjoyable experience was spending time at the small sheesha cafe in the middle of the resort, set up like a Bedouin tent, which had by far the friendliest staff and best service in the entire resort, and was the only thing in the entire place that had a hint of Egyptian feeling (even the evening entertainment belly dancer was Russian). It was what made the resort memorable for us, and the only reason we would return to this hotel, which otherwise was relatively ordinary.
