Hotel with zero room updates

The hotel still has crt TVs and very dimly lit rooms. The hotels have not been refurbished with the new kind of amenities..

Good location. Bad customer experience

Everything about the hotel was fantastic until the very last interaction. I wanted to hire a taxi to go to a location in Hyderabad and they called a "transportation specialist" to help me out. The specialist looked at the address and quoted me a rate (Which was over 3x the rate of an airport pickup). When we took the hotel taxi to the destination, the actual distance travelled ended up being less than 3km!!! It is disappointing that the hotel staff charged me this exorbitant rate just to make a little extra money. I would heavily caution against using hotel provided transportation and instead call a taxi from outside (like Meru cabs)

First Impressions

Pros: Nice and Cosy
Cons: Front Desk executives could improve knowledge of the locality or Proactively offer to get the information from other knowledgeable staff.
Location: The hotel was walking distance to HardRock Cafe in GVK Mall. Taj Krishna is connected via bridge if one wants to indulge in restuarants there.
I am a Malaysian and live in Chennai for the past 1.5 years. I booked the hotel over the net and this was 1st time we (2pax) stayed in Taj Deccan, Hyderabad. Was pleasantly happy with the Front Desk Manager who was very helpfull (Mr. Narasiman) at the time of checking-in and assured to take care of us during our 3 day stay. However, the ladies helping at Front Desk were not too helpful when we requested assistance to share a few places in Hyderabad over the next 2 days. We tried their Tepanyaki promotion and have to say the "Sashimi" was very acceptable. Buffet breakfast however was disappointing and we were also looking for bacon but was not part of the buffet. Was surprised with the timeliness and quality shoeshine by the housekeeping staff.

Horrible service

Was promised a buffet breakfast while making the booking. However was not provided the same. Also paid for an upgraded room however was offered the basic room. Day light cheats at this hotel. Also inferior treatment provided when you do the booking through third party websites.

Bad hotel in the middle of hyderabad

Pros: The Bar was Ok
Cons: Change the people at the front door, especially those who are in the traditional dress. You don't need those people.
Location: nothing
Staff always expecting you to pay them. Go in out of hotel is not possible/comfortable unless you bribe them. Hotel roof was leaking when it was raining. And the staff at the reception is very bad and arrogant.

Alright hotel, nothing fancy, old and it shows

Alright hotel. dont charge much but at the same time dont offer much either. its an old hotel and shows its age. had an old CRT tv in the room, not even the flat screen one. breakfast is decent. In desperate need of an upgrade.
