The shuttle drama!

Posted Mar 15, 2015
Pros: Room decor, location, pool,
Cons: Staff behaviour, shuttle service.
We were really looking forward to this stay but unfortunately were left a little disappointed. On the plus side, the check-in by Christian was smooth and he was helpful sorting out a car rental for us. The room was lovely, apart from a VERY strong bad smell in the bathroom.I assume it's because of the hotels location. We never complained so I am not sure if it was just our room or every room. The shuttle service was a joke - we were not able to go onto the evening shuttle that we pre-booked way ahead of time both evenings because 1st night it was overbooked, and second night we were booked in on the wrong time! Also the morning shuttle to the park was 30min late which meant we got back to the hotel later then planned too.We just couldn't understand how such basic thing got so confusing every night with people not being able to get on shuttles and being treated quite rude! The staff member at reception blamed his colleague who made the booking and said it's got nothing to do with him. Well in our eyes he's still representing the same hotel and should've at least made an apology. One couple, who also were booked for a wrong shuttle went to have a beer whilst waiting for 30min for the next one. Well, they were told in the restaurant that they cannot have one because they haven't made a reservation. No wonder I later saw them carrying their own beers they bought in town! The breakfast was OK. Overall, the place has a potential to be A LOT better.

Is a nice hotel but need a transport to get to the falls. They could improve a lot on the breakfast.

Different hotel

Posted Mar 4, 2015
Pros: See above
Cons: Air Conditioning
Location: It's close to everything, the Falls, animal refuge, etc
Cantera sent us to a different hotel because of electric problems. Worked out well for us. Name was Tierra Guarani Lodge. Only problem no one spoke English. Only other problem was that air conditioning was either on or off. No way to set a temperature. The room was large, clean and beautiful; the setting was still the jungle. Highly recommend especially if you speak Spanish.

Hotel im Dschungel

Posted Feb 18, 2015

Everyone was friendly and helpful. The place is very clean and the room was much larger than we expected. The only downfall is that wifi does not reach past the pool/lobby area. There are tons of chairs and tables out there to catch up on work and emails, but not in the rooms. Overall, it was a great stay and I would stay there again.

Great Hotel in Eco-Jungle Setting

Posted Jan 29, 2015
Pros: Love the pool, breakfast and dinner, rooms and the setting. The staff were also very helpful with advice for local outings
Cons: The bikes we borrowed were not in the best shape - but still worked fine for cruising local paths and back roads.
Location: Iguazu Falls, Animal Rehab Center, town of Port of Iquazu
Second time we've stayed at this hotel. It is well off the main street but still provides easy access to local activities and attractions. The rooms are perfectly appointed, many with large screened porches which make it like camping in the jungle (all the sights and sounds) but with all the amenities and trappings of a boutiques four-star hotel.

Great customer service!

Posted Jan 29, 2015
Upon our arrival we were informed that our room had a loss of power due to an earlier thunderstorm. They did not have any other available rooms so they had already booked us into a nearby hotel. The new accommodation was rated higher than La Cantera Jungle Lodge. The stay was perfect and we very much appreciated La Cantera's customer service! Didn't get a chance to see La Cantera's facilities but what we did see the place appeared very pleasing and romantic.
