The highlight of trip to Brazil for the World Cup

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: Surroundings, location, facilities, everything and of course being just next to the Falls.
Cons: We had a very nice dinner. Service could be improved. One waiter (ours) was very busy while 2 or 3 others where mostly standing around, doing nothing.
Location: Spent only 16 hours only in the area; only visited the Argentine side of the Falls. Border crossing into and out of Argentina is a big mess (delays)
The World Cup was supposed to be the highlight of our trip (two of my grandchildren, 21 and 18 me, the grandfather) to Brazil, but it was the Falls for two of us. We loved the hotel and of course the Iguazu Falls. My granddaughter wants to spend her honeymoon there when she gets married.

Beautiful hotel magnificent view of the falls

Posted Apr 2, 2014
Pros: Great service magnificent location.
Cons: A longer stay
Location: Hike the many trails and enjoy the falls.
Location, location, location. We selected a falls view room and hated to leave the magnificent view so ordered room service to enjoy our balcony. The location enabled us to take maximum advantage of the many pathways in the park and was in easy walking distance to the train to Devils Throat.

Has a distant view of the falls

Posted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: Attractive location and food in the lobby bar was good. Jungle view hotel room was bright and airy.
Cons: Frontline staff could be friendlier and more helpful. Allow guests access to trails when cooler and less crowded before and after public park hours.
Location: Attractive location but not worth the extra room cost. Itaipú Dam complex is worth a visit.
Disappointing after a stay at Hotel das Cataratas, Brazil. The view of the falls was quite distant and not worth the extra cost for a falls view room. The view trails were only accessible during public park hours even though the hotel is within the park. In hind sight we would have stayed longer in Brazil and made a day trip to the Venezuelan Falls.

Up Close and Personal with Iguazu

Posted Feb 16, 2014
I might have been a bit reluctant to stay at a name brand chain hotel in such a unique and one-of-a-kind place, but the Sheraton at Iguazu did not disappoint. The view is fantastic and certainly something worth paying extra to enjoy from your room. But the best part of this hotel is being in the park, enabling you to get out and walk around early before the throngs of tourists arrive. The breakfast and dinner buffets were completely satisfactory; nothing too remarkable, but certainly decent enough. They have a very nice and well-equipped gym and a great pool. The only downside was, 1) having to pay for Internet, and 2) the completely inattentive, borderline rude guy who worked the bar at the pool. The rest of the staff is wonderful, but he should definitely be replaced. All in all though, I would recommend staying here.
