"Classy, understated, and friendly"
The hotel is located about 5 minutes from Suidobashi station on the Chuo-Sobu line, approx 1 mile away from Akihabara. It is well located for both trips into the city as well as further afield to places like Tokyo Bay and Nakano. The hotel has laundry facilities, vending, massage chairs and a workout room. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly, going as far as to look after a friends suitcase. They were always able to help us with any requests we had regarding travel etc. Whilst staying there Tokyo had a smallish quake, which despite doing no damage was scary for someone who has never experienced one before. The front desk were very reassuring. We stayed in room 1103 which is a standard non smoking double. The room was the same size as most I've stayed at in the UK, with the bed perfectly roomy enough for two! This was equipped with a desk, chair, wardrobe, fridge and kettle. I would say there wasn't really enough hangars for our clothes, and no place to put underwear or other foldable items. Having to keep these in suitcases was probably the only frustrating thing about our room. The bathroom was nearly as big as the bedroom and had a very roomy bath and powerful shower. The loo had heating, deodoriser, spray and bidet functions and there were no plumbing issues. Toiletries included a good supply of high quality shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel, as well as daily replenishments of everything from cotton buds and toothpaste to disposable hairbrushes.

"Close to transport and decent breakfast"
I stayed here for a week as a base for exploring Tokyo. It was a good location - Suidobashi isn't a hotspot for tourists, and the hotel itself is set a block back from a main road, so it was fairly quiet. But it's 5 minutes walk to the JR station, and across the river is the subway station, so it's great for getting around Tokyo. The room itself was very nice. It was adequate size; other travelers might comment on how small it is but this is typical of anywhere in Japan. I was traveling by myself so it was no problem. The room had a large single bed, and a washer-dryer with English instructions (washing powder can be bought in single serves from reception). There is a small fridge in the room but I think it only works when the room is powered - ie your room key is plugged in. So it will refrigerate overnight but not while you're out during the day. The staff spoke good English. The room included buffet breakfast, which was pretty good compared to most Japanese hotels: toast, juice, tea & coffee, a salad, and a rotating hot food menu which included fried rice, scrambled eggs, hamburger steaks in sauce, and curry chicken. The room included free wifi which was reliable and worked well.

"Japan was so clean and refreshing!"
Knowing nothing about China or Japan, we decided to venture out and book our own hotel and see the city on our own. I looked on a map of Tokyo and picked the part of town where we thought we could walk to our site seeing spots. We were right on. The Grand Palace was in the heart of it all. We walked a total of about 5 miles in one day, but it was well worth it. The hotel staff made sure we knew where we were going. They set up our shuttle back to the airport. They were always in the lobby asking if we needed help with anything. They all spoke English, too!

"Great base from which to explore Tokyo"
This hotel is very conveniently placed barely two minutes walk from exit A5 of Jimbocho metro station, and the area is full of excellent restaurants and convenience stores, and a twenty-four hour internet cafe, and it's even just a half hour walk from the Imperial Palace, so it's a great base from which to explore Tokyo. The room and hotel were very clean. We had a smoking room, so it smelt of cigarette smoke, but with a short time of the air conditioning on, or the window open, you soon stopped noticing it. The room was also small, and the window had frosted glass so there was no view out of our room... of the wall the hotel is built right next to! I didn't mind - it's a Tokyo thing. I didn't ever have the hotel breakfast so I can't comment on that (but if you don't like it, like I say you're surrounded by great restaurants and stores). The staff didn't speak much English, but even tourism office staff in Japan won't speak English, so you shouldn't rely on that if you intend to travel to Japan, however they were extremely helpful, and friendly. I asked them where the nearest kaiten sushi place was, and they looked up the internet, a phone book, rang a friend and even printed and showed me on a map. Unfortunately Tokyo addresses are notoriously difficult for even Tokyoites to decipher, so maps rarely help, but the staff were very helpful and pleasant, even down to cleaners wishing you a nice day as you stroll out. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay in it again.

"Good location"
The hotel was quite close to the Ikebukoro station and shopping areas. It was a little hard to find at first - no fault of the hotel though. Staff were very helpful. The rooms felt a bit small, but then I am 6'2" in height. They were perfectly acceptable rooms and we both enjoyed our stay.
