Don't be fooledPosted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: Fine in terms of cleanliness
Contrary to its write up on Expedia, this hotel does not have free parking and parking is not available nearby. Otherwise it was fine although the beds were a bit hard.

Good city hotel.Posted Jul 26, 2014
Pros: Excellent location, comfort, and friendliness of staff.
Cons: Slightly more efficient air-conditioning, but having said that, we were there during a very, very hot spell.
This very friendly hotel was very convenient for the main railway station, metro and main bus station. Although we overlooked the main square in front of the railway station, the room was very well sound proofed and there was no traffic noise at all. Neither could you hear noises from rooms next door. There were plenty of eating places nearby, plus a bakery, a Tabac, and two little grocery shops. About 10 minutes flat stroll down the road we found a wonderful pedestrianised street, Rue Vasselot, which had everything you wanted, plus a lovely atmosphere. It was just a couple of minutes from the old part of Rennes. When visiting the old part of the city one 'must see' is the PARC du Thabor. These gardens were so colourful and also included was a collection of 100's of different types of roses. Rennes was a great centre to explore the surrounding area by bus and train, all very reasonably priced. All in all, a great stay.Excellent

Easy access to train stationPosted Oct 7, 2009
The hotel is literally directly across the street from the train station in Rennes, as well as about 15 minutes' walk from the center of town. Comfortable room, electric kettle provided. The only down side was that the door knob to the bathroom was extremely difficult to open.

Great on a budget.Posted Sep 21, 2007
The hotel is opposite the train station and is with 5 minutes walk of the centre of Rennes so it is a very handy place to position yourself. There is a metro line in the station which can take you to the centre in no time at all. very easy to use. The hotel itself is basic but clean and tidy. For the price it is a bargain because you tend to be out most of the time anyway.

Ok for a two star.Posted Aug 22, 2007
The two star Hotel Kyriad, Rennes, in well situated opposite the SNCF railway/metro station, it's just a minute or two away on foot. The hotel has a small reception area, and room was clean and of a good size. I have stayed in three star hotels which have not been as good. Rooms have traditional CRT tv, minibar, air conditioning (though the hotel has control over when this operates, and was turned off sooner than I would have liked in the morning), tea/coffee making facilities, etc. The windows were double-glazed and the room was therefore very quiet, even though it overlooked the front of the hotel/railway station area. The bathroom was very clean and of a good size. The only fly-in-the-ointment, was a battery operated air freshener on the bathroom wall. This frequently created a mist, an innocent device one would have thought, but it decided that it was not happy rather early in the morning and started beeping loudly every few seconds. I could stand it no longer, and the opened up this annoying little device and removed its batteries, which restored the silence! Overall, a good hotel.
