Conveniently located child friendly hotel.Posted Aug 21, 2014
Pros: Free parking, convenient location and access, swimming pool, child friendly and inexpensive.
Cons: Room cleanliness, staff training, the food in the restaurant and the decor.
Location: Rennes is a great city to explore for a wet weather holiday. Also visit Dinan, Vitre, and Fougeres, all stunning.
We stayed 6 nights using the hotel as a base to explore Rennes and Brittany. We chose this Novotel rated 4 star as we had previously stayed at the Novotel in Lisbon, also rated 4 star and excellent. However, to call this hotel 4 star, I felt was wide of the mark. The style, furnishings and decor etc was more like a Travelodge. Also no porter to help with bags etc. Had it been a 2 or even 3 star hotel, we probably would have been quite happy. The staff did their best despite being stretched. The same staff were having to man reception, serve in the bar as well as waiting in the restaurant. We also had a dispute when we arrived over the type of room we had booked until I produced the paper work and even then they tried to blame Expedia and told us to sort it out with Expedia before eventually backing down after initially giving us a room where the air conditioning didn't work. However, in fairness there were good points. Free secure parking, free wifi, inexpensive for August, easy to access off the motorway network, child friendly, a swimming pool and close to the Metro for getting into the center of Rennes.

Good for an overnight stop once off the ferry.Posted Jul 19, 2014
On the outer ring this hotel is an ideal stop over before heading south. Nice room and a decent restaurant. Secure parking. It's a drive into Renne.

Chose this hotel as a stop off on the way to see friends in Brittany, the plus was the pool, hotel very clean, excellent food and as near as a full English breakfast as you get when in France

Excellent - just what we needed after a long drive to have a comfortable and conveniently located hotel close to our route. Staff were delightful and helpful. good value. Thanks to all. Shopping complex very close by. Surprisingly quiet in spite of being close to ring road.

Its a Novotel in Europe...what to say. Basic clean facilities, good breakfast available. However not near city at all being a 15 minute drive. Quite but has a large supermarket and shopping complex nearby.
