Weekend Getaway

Posted Mar 9, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Rooms need updated to accomodate temperature.
Location: Downtown Indy has everything close by, shopping, dining and entertainment.
The rooms were so warm they had ceiling fans to assist with the cooling. We called the front desk to request someone turn down the heat and they told us to open a window. For the price we paid to stay at the Embassy Suites, someone should have assisted us with our room temperature.

Some good, some not so good!

Posted Mar 6, 2015
Pros: Location, room layout and service.
Cons: The headboard on the beds could be of a softer material to make it more child-friendly.
Location: The Children's Museum nearby is AMAZING , highly recommend it!
The layout of this hotel is great for families, with every room a suite starting with living room, then bathroom then bedroom at the back. This is ideal if there is noise outside in the corridors (people coming back late, etc) as you don't hear them. However, during the daytime it was VERY noisy in our room. Also the headboard on the beds was metal bars and my daughter ended up with a large lump on her head from middle of the night moving around. On the plus side, the breakfast was excellent and it was nice being attached to a mall as there were plenty of eating options available without having to go outside in freezing temperatures. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Pros: Suites very comfortable.
Cons: Breakfast staff very harried from dealing with large numbers of children and teenagers.
Not the place for a quiet romantic weekend - hotel was filled with children and their parents and large groups of teenagers attending sports competitions. Good value and parking. Rooms are comfortable.

Below average until upgraded.

Our first room had a broken toilet and no temperature control. Our room was too hot and couldn't be regulated because they had no way of cooling it during the winter. When the manager upgraded to another suite with temperature it was much better.

We traveled with our three children and needed a larger room or suite and chose Embassy Suites. The only plus was the location. The rooms were terribly outdated. The carpeting in the room was dirty. My kids socks and pjs were dirty from sitting and walking on the carpet. The hotel has a policy of no AC in the winter months. Our room was sweltering. Even with the window open and ceiling fan on, we were all roasting. There were no pillows or blankets provided for the pull out sofa. The pull out sofa was very uncomfortable and you could feel the springs coming through the mattress. The room had a coffee maker that did not work. Also had a refrigerator which froze the food and medicine we had. The bathroom was small. The toilet was not connected properly to the wall or floor (my husband is a carpenter and noticed this). The tub/shower combo was poorly maintained as far as the caulking. The water pressure was almost non-existent. Free breakfast was provided, but it ok at best. Pastries were stale, french toast overcooked, scrambled eggs under cooked. It was a very busy weekend, but the hotel did not keep up with demand at breakfast and you were left waiting for plates, silverware and food to be replenished. Also the swimming pool was overly chlorinated. We will be traveling to Indy again and I would not recommend this hotel.

Wonderful Staff!

Posted Jan 14, 2015
Pros: Clean, convenient and pleasant staff.
Cons: Information and blankets
Location: Many restaurants, too busy to do anything else.
Pros: Convenient to the convention center, clean and comfortable, pleasant staff. Cons: The path to the convention center was closed one night and we were not informed that this would happen or instructed to an alternate route, need a mid-level blanket on the beds; sheets are not enough the comforter too warm, our associates asked for advice and arriving to the hotel from the airport and were not informed of the downtown shuttle for $10/person (much cheaper than a taxi and very convenient).
