Horrible Experience :(

Posted Feb 10, 2015
We were in town for a gymnastics meet and at one time I had four different hotels booked. I ended up going with Marriott because of their reputation...what a mistake! From the minute I got there they were overwhelmed by this conference that they had and every employee seemed frazzled. They also gave me a hard time about getting my car out of the garage by a certain time even though it was right in the middle of my daughter's competition time. Our room had old flowers in it, finger prints and dirt on the mirrors, and the granite counter that they TV was on was all sticky. I also don't think it had been vacuumed in a while. And the walls were paper thin!! I heard everything going on in the rooms around me from 1:30 - 3:30 AM :( The hotel didn't care with the exception of two front desk clerks. I even reached out to corporate via Twitter and was assured that the hotel management would reach out to me multiple times and have yet to hear from them - they just don't care! I will definitely be staying at a different hotel next year!

They sold my room to someone else for more $

Posted Jan 28, 2015
They acknowledged I had a reservation but they gave out room away. We had to walk a couple blocks down the road in 20 degree weather to a room they comped us on in a much lesser hotel jammed with 10 year olds in a soccer tournament.

Thank you for your note. As you had mentioned, we are very close to all the downtown attractions and major sporting venues. Our team always strives to provide great mid-west hospitality. We hope to see you in the very near future when your travels take you back to Indianapolis.

my husband and i stayed there for new year's eve

Posted Jan 8, 2015
Pros: Staff were pleasant; room was clean and nice; easy access to restaurants & Georgia St. for the new year's eve festivities. Breakfast buffet-great
Cons: free wi-fi in the rooms would be nice and free parking
Location: location was great - just a short walk to the Circle Center Mall; many restaurants close by; and Georgia Street was 5 minutes away
The parking attendants out front were very helpful and we left the car in their hands while checking in. Unfortunately they did not have the king bed room available even though it was 45 minutes until official check-in. So we had 2 double beds which we weren't happy about but it turned out to be a very nice room. Found out later we could get all the way to the Weber Grill restaurant without going outside via the Convention Center and the Circle City Mall! This was a plus since it was frigid out that night.

About what you'd expect

Posted Jan 7, 2015
It was nice, clean, etc., but I had a small issue with the way the concierge handled our reservation. We had requested a king, and instead they just told us they had "committed" all of their king rooms already and would be placing us in a room with two double beds. While I understand this is a possibility, to me, it sounded like they had king rooms available, and were simply holding out for people that would potentially give them a hard time about not having a king room. The concierge was not apologetic at all, when I thought he should have been. And to be honest, if we knew that we would get stuck in a room with two tiny beds barely big enough for two normal sized people, I would have gone to another hotel. I think the downtown Marriott could benefit from a little more transparency, that's all.

Hotel was clean and staff was very helpful. Overall hotel is comfortable and good location. Hotel rooms could use a facelfit, seems like it is an afterthought with the new JW nearby.
