Pros: The historic character, the included breakfast and the great location (easy to go shopping or to the ski hill)
Location: Lots of marketplace shops, close to the bus stop to go to the ski hills and close to the funicular for a scenic ride.
Very nice hotel close to historic Innsbruck (walking distance), the hotel it self is historic, very comfortable and has a great breakfast.

Very good location and excellent service

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Cons: controlling heat/A/c from room
Location: Old town; shops restaurants; river
We stayed one night and were pleased to be within walking distance to so many interesting sites. The staff was very helpful and the room comfortable in every way. The buffet breakfast was very ample and delicious and we felt that the hotel exceeded our expectations. Comfortable beds and functioning air conditioning and great showers added to our positive experience.

Great Location, wonderful staff

The location is in the Old Town, close to most sights and the rooms and restaurant are great, but the best feature is really Uli, the ultimate receptionist. Nothing is a bother, she loves everyone and is just a pure joy.

Just as good the second time around

Pros: Ideal for the single traveler, as they have smallish rooms for reasonable prices for singletons. Staff is devoted to service; one feels like a guest.
Location: For sightseeing in and around the old city, the hotel's location could not be bettered. Most major sights and attractions are only a short walk away.
I revisited this hotel after a two year hiatus and found it just as excellent as before. Very professionally run, staff members all polite and eager to assist guests. They took the trouble to inquire if I needed help checking in in advance for my onward flight returning to Philadelphia, and, finding that I did not have a computer for advance check in, they went ahead and did the advance check in, being sure to get me a desirable aisle seat. The place is impeccably maintained, the rooms well designed and comfortable, and the variety of cable stations on TV is good. As on the previous occasion, I had a room facing an inner courtyard, which made it very quiet but meant no view of the Alps. Possibly the rooms that face outward to the street have better views, but they may be noisier at night. I'd rather have a quiet room and do my sightseeing in Innsbruck and its lovely Alpine setting when I am outside the hotel. The breakfast buffet used to include eggs and the local Speck; now one needs to request this dish, but it comes quickly and perfectly prepared. I do love the historic character of the hotel and the displays of biographies and portraits of the famous people, including royalty, who have stayed there over the centuries.

Perfect location, perfect hotel

Pros: We were charmed that the rooms differed from each other and that the hotel is run like a family by one family.
Innsbruck is a fairy tale spot, perfect in every way, and the Goldener Adler is a fairy tale hotel sporting a glorious history and maintained at a very high level. It is in the heart of the old city, within walking distance of everything you want to see, with a superb breakfast buffet that cannot be matched anywhere. If you cannot find a room here, do come at least for breakfast or dinner to make your stay in Innsbruck complete.

Golden Adler

Enjoyed our stay. Breakfast good, and staff were helpful. Suggest better lighting in the rooms as reading was difficult. Tough finding the place, maybe a sign roadside would help. The charm of the hotel was outstanding and our evening meal outside was great.

Nice hotel centrally located

Great stay. Room is clean and a good size. The golden roof is right down the street about a minute away. Very centrally located to the main sights and located in the alstatt. Perfect for a one night stay to check out innsbruck. Breakfast was nice too. Would definitely stay again.

Ehemalige Burg -mittendrin und doch angenehm ruhig

Posted Jul 8, 2013

Not your typical Best Western

Posted Jul 4, 2013
Location: Golden roof is a few hundred feet down the street.
Great customer service. Great location right in the city's center and 1 mile from the train station. Great view of the mountains. Lots of wood decor - they are going for a medieval theme, and are successful at doing so without it feeling old and stuffy.
