International District Vacations

International District lies within the city of Seattle, a significant city that has 600,000 residents. The city center of Seattle is only less than 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) away, while Seattle - Tacoma International Airport can be found 11 miles (18 kilometers) to the south of International District.

While you are in the area, be sure to spend a day exploring nearby areas, like Seattle Waterfront, Downtown Seattle and Seattle.

Of course, people come from all over the world to experience Space Needle, one of the most iconic sites in the country. It is only 1 mile (2 kilometers) from the middle on the city.

Naturally, the city center of Seattle has lots of great places to see. So take your camera and visit the Pike Place Market.

International District offers some interesting museums, exhibits and show venues within easy reach that make great places to visit. Take the time to see some of the inspiring galleries and collections such as the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park and the Wing Luke Asian Museum. Book tickets for some of the thrilling theater, dance and music shows at Benaroya Hall, Neumos and Showbox SoDo. There are a number of excellent art galleries to visit including the Seattle Art Museum and the Frye Art Museum.

Discover the area’s family-friendly side at the Seattle Great Wheel and the Seattle Great Wheel. The kids will have fun. Take pictures, admire the exhibits and discover the variety of species at Seattle Aquarium.

If the weather is good get outdoors and make the most of the nearby green spaces. Have a break in one of the local parks and gardens, which include the Olympic Sculpture Park, the Waterfall Garden Park and Denny Park.

While you are here, don’t miss some of the local sights such as Tillicum Village, Pioneer Square and the Saint James Cathedral. These spots are a magnet for travellers from all the corners of the globe. If you’re a history buff, Seattle’s bygone days can still be experienced at Smith Tower. To get a little closer to Seattle’s heart and soul, spend a little time at the area’s holy places, such as the Chapel of Saint Ignatius.

If you are looking to give your credit card a workout, visit Pacific Place and Westlake Center.

While vacationing in International District, don’t miss the Seattle Mariners baseball team in summer at Safeco Field, the region’s premier sporting venue. If you’re visiting Seattle with a sports nut, why not surprise them with one of Safeco Field’s behind the scenes tours.

After a day exploring the streets of International District, relax for the night in one of the area’s popular hotels or serviced apartments. The Sheraton Seattle Hotel, the Motif Seattle and the Executive Hotel Pacific are just three of the many great places to stay around here.
