International District Vacations
While you are in the area, be sure to spend a day exploring nearby areas, like Seattle Waterfront, Downtown Seattle and Seattle.
Of course, people come from all over the world to experience Space Needle, one of the most iconic sites in the country. It is only 1 mile (2 kilometers) from the middle on the city.
Naturally, the city center of Seattle has lots of great places to see. So take your camera and visit the Pike Place Market.
International District offers some interesting museums, exhibits and show venues within easy reach that make great places to visit. Take the time to see some of the inspiring galleries and collections such as the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park and the Wing Luke Asian Museum. Book tickets for some of the thrilling theater, dance and music shows at Benaroya Hall, Neumos and Showbox SoDo. There are a number of excellent art galleries to visit including the Seattle Art Museum and the Frye Art Museum.
Discover the area’s family-friendly side at the Seattle Great Wheel and the Seattle Great Wheel. The kids will have fun. Take pictures, admire the exhibits and discover the variety of species at Seattle Aquarium.
If the weather is good get outdoors and make the most of the nearby green spaces. Have a break in one of the local parks and gardens, which include the Olympic Sculpture Park, the Waterfall Garden Park and Denny Park.
While you are here, don’t miss some of the local sights such as Tillicum Village, Pioneer Square and the Saint James Cathedral. These spots are a magnet for travellers from all the corners of the globe. If you’re a history buff, Seattle’s bygone days can still be experienced at Smith Tower. To get a little closer to Seattle’s heart and soul, spend a little time at the area’s holy places, such as the Chapel of Saint Ignatius.
