Value for moneyPosted May 10, 2015
Pros: Location and price
Cons: A bit of a spruce up would be good
Location: On the main road into town, everything close by, walking distance.
Good location, cheap and cheerful. All you need for the price, my room was clean. A little tired round the edges, walls marked, doors scuffed etc. tiny shower. Bed very comfortable.

Southern TripPosted Apr 30, 2015
Pros: Central location, and good value for money.
Small room and bathroom, but did have a kitchenette. Was clean and tidy. Location was very good, being central city and was what we wanted.

Clean and centrally located hotel. Room was clean with high ceilings which made it feel spacious, bathroom was modern with a good shower.

DisappointingPosted Apr 10, 2015
Disappointed with standard of accommodation. Cooking in other rooms was very smelly. Small room for 2 people compared to other Expedia recommendations.

Very close to everything in town.Posted Mar 23, 2015
The staff were really friendly and helpful. We would happily stay again. Very good price and the shower had excellent pressure. It's perfect having radiators so that the rooms stayed at a nice warm even temperature. Thank you for making our stay hassle free.

Very helpful staffPosted Mar 22, 2015
Location: Walking distance to downtown and services.
Of the dozen places that we stayed in New Zealand this was definitely the best value. The hotel was clean and appeared to be recently remodeled. Both staff members were helpful, polite, and gave us good attention.

Pros: Nothing at all
Not one thing in the kitchen worked. Microwave broken, sink tap falling off, kettle broken etc etc. The same in the bathroom. The staff were nice but this place should have been shut down in the 60's or at the very least updated.

Down town locationPosted Mar 9, 2015
Pros: Room was quiet.
Cons: Funny smell in hall way. There are some nice communal areas in the hotel but the staff does not tell you this when you check in.
Compact room view very industrial. Room functional and we walked to breakfast. Not many options for late night dining. We ended up at Burger King. Pay extra for off street parking.

Worst place I've ever stayedPosted Mar 7, 2015
Pros: Nothing much. They did have a communal kitchen if you wanted to cook.
Cons: They are renovating but have a long way to go. Beds were too soft and rooms need air conditioning.
Location: The staff didn't provide us with a town map so there didn't seem to be anything to do.
Staff were not helpful or friendly. Room was hot and very small. Overlooked the train yard so didn't sleep because of the trains shunting most of the night. If it wasn't the trains it was the trucks breaking to go round the corner. Even the town seemed tired. Every second shop shut and the whole place seemed empty even though we were there on a week day. If you don't have to stop at Invercargill, I wouldn't bother. Couldn't wait to get out of there.
