"Welcoming respite"
My husband and I were on a leisure trip to the north of Scotland with our dog. We were all welcomed and made to feel at home, in a very comfortable room with quick access to the lovely grounds outdoors.

Craigdarroch House Hotel

Foyers, Inverness - Map

Lovely hotel up in the hills looking over the beautiful Loch Ness. The views around are gorgeous with the forest, and Falls of Foyers nearby. The hotel itself is lovely, with the warm feeling of a small, local inn but also with great facilities. The rooms are spacious, ours had a forest view although the ones at the front had a spectacular view of the Loch. The bar at the hotel was a lovely conservatory style room overlooking the Loch and a separate drawing room which was more like a lounge and restaurant. It seemed to also be popular with some of the people living around. It had an interesting selection of whiskies, beers and other drinks. The food menu was also very impressive, although on our visit they had ran out of a lot of things, this was expected on New Year's Day but was quite disappointing on New Year's Eve. The food took a while to come out, but as they were quite busy it was just a minor disappointment. On New Year's Day, our meal was not as good with my partner's steak almost raw when he had asked for medium, and a missing side dish. The service was also a bit slow considering there was only one other table. Overall, it was a great hotel and I would definitely recommend it. There were a few things with the restaurant service but they were only minor and had no effect on what was a great stay!
