“"Loved the antique feel"”

Stepping into the lobby reminded us of a 1920's-30's hotel. We loved the old hot water registers in the room as it reminded my husband of his boyhood home. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The discount breakfast coupons were very much appreciated. What a great deal! We enjoyed the area and the quaint downtown shops. We"ll definitely come back.

“Don't go there with me”

We paid a high rate for a 2 room suite. The 2 rooms were a living area with the refrigerator, couch and roll top desk with a tv in it. The living area did not have A/C and was hot. The bedroom was so small it did not even have a nightstand. The tv was on a dresser with someone elses clothes in it, and the closet had dirty sheets on the floor. It had a noisey window air conditioner that blew directly on the bed, It was over 100 outside and the street noise was too loud to sleep with the window open. The bathroom was ok but no towels until we called housekeeping. The soap and shampoo was a dispenser in the shower. There was no space or outlet for my water pick. The kitchenette had a few dishes and pots and pans (I don't know why, there was no cooktop) It had a microwave but no paper cups or plates. There was no dish soap and housekeeping did not wash the glass we used. It said the hotel was remodeled but the only new thing was the bedspread and couch and maybe the carpet. Even the bathroom was carpeted. Lighting was terrible to try to read my newspaper, the paint was chipped, the curtains falling off, Parking was a problem and the car had to be moved at check in. The hotel had many rooms rented to the county for homeless people who I am sure paid a lot less than we did. They were outside the doors smoking and in the halls. The ice machine was in the basement and I was actually afraid at night to get ice. We go there every year and even the 60's Safari Inn was more comfortable.
