Recommended a great restaurant and I would highly recommend the hotel. Clean, the shower was hot and had great pressure.

Good for what you pay forPosted Jul 31, 2013
The facility was overall serviceable, better than what I was expecting. The room and the bathroom were clean and everything was in working condition. The breakfast was good, I'm always happy with just coffee and a waffle maker, though some people may not find it to be enough. I was there on a Sunday/Monday, so the stay was quiet, but housekeeping stopped by twice before 10 am (once when I was sleeping) so that was a bit of a bother. The front desk staff was nothing to brag about, they didn't seem to care or go above or beyond the call of duty, though that may not speak for the staff in their entirety.

Close to LakesPosted Jul 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
We enjoyed it very much. We usually stay somewhere with a pool but we were doing things up at the lakes so knew we would not have time, so the pool didn't matter this time. Was a very comfortable nights stay we had a great weekend. Thanks

Close to OkabojiPosted Jul 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
My only criticism at this motel is there is not a front desk employee after 11:00pm. When we arrived in the area, we went straight to Okaboji to meet family and friends and returned to our motel in Spencer, IA shortly after 11. We had to go to the motel next door to get our room keys. Other than that, the motel was clean and well maintained.

Nice hotel for a good pricePosted May 27, 2013
Location: Many places to eat, close to gas stations and a park close by.
We chose this hotel because the price was great for people on a budget like us. We were only staying for one night. Our room was very clean and the staff was nice. Only downside was the beds were a little to hard for our liking but it wouldn't keep me from recommending this hotel to others.

Nothing specialPosted May 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
There isn't much choice of hotels in Spencer, Iowa, and we had stayed at the Days Inn (next door) last year so we thought we'd give the Econo Lodge a try this year. Overheard while standing in the lobby waiting to check in that the same folks own both hotels. Well, that explains a lot. The hotel is supposedly undergoing renovations, but we didn't see any evidence of that. Our room was in need of a good cleaning. Not that it was dirty or anything; it was just old. We asked for a nonsmoking room, but we should have saved our breath. The smell of cigarette smoke filled the stairwell, and when you turn on the light in the bathroom the vent fan automatically comes on as well, and pulls the cigarette smoke into the room. My recommendation is to book a room at the AmericaValue Inn at the other end of town. Newer and in better shape than either the EconoLodge or the Days Inn.

Friendly StaffPosted Apr 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
Remodeling in progress during our most recent of several stays. Friendly staff. Close to the mall and several locations to eat. Resonable price.
Just OKPosted Sep 4, 2012 on Hotels.com
I needed a bed for the night as I was in route to another destination. This served the purpose. Nothing special about the hotel or my stay.
