“Will be going back.”

We stayed here on our last trip Okoboji before they remodeled. It was alot nicer this time. And we will be coming back.

“Wasn't bad”

Room was nice. Carpets were a little dirty, white socks were no longer white. Besides that everything else was ok. Not the best but definitely far from the worst.

“Rodeway Okoboji”

The management (oriental) were VERY difficult to understand. She was the only person present while I was checking in and was very busy answering phone calls, and dealing with other issues. So, check in took almost 20 minutes, because she wasn't focusing on one thing (IE: finishing my check in and putting people on hold) but was multi-tasking way too much. We did hang our towels for reuse the first 2 nights, but then left them on the floor the third so we could get new ones. I don't think anyone even checked on our room that day. The beds weren't made, and the towels weren't changed out. Also, the entire time we were there, no one switched out our garbage. We started bagging it ourselves, but couldn't find a dumpster anywhere so we dumped it in the restroom by the swimming pool. The room itself was great. It was bigger than anticipated, which is always good. We comfortably had three, 5-year olds, 1 infant in a pack-n-play and 2 adults in a room with 2 full beds and a pullout couch.

“Huge room!”

The room we had is huge! It is about half again as large as a typical motel room. It has two queen beds. As is typical with motels the beds are too hard. There is a small refrigerator and a small microwave in the room. An ironing board and iron are also in the room. The room was very clean and neat. No complaints there! The room has water heat. One thing I did not care for was that the room thermostat was locked so that it could not be adjusted. The room was overly warm to us. We opened a window to let some heat out and cold in. We were in the room just before Christmas. The parking lot is fairly small and a public alley runs through the middle of it. The parking lot is black-topped but the alley is dirt/gravel.

“good experience.”

Very cheerful, helpful staff. In the midst of a re do, so there are some glitches. Over all, a nice place to stay.

“Very clean!”

#1 The hotel and rooms were very clean and looked as though had been updated recently. #2 Bed was comfy, nice room ammenities. #3 All staff we ran into were courteous and very pleasant. #4 Air conditioner was noisey, but they usually are.

“it was an okay stay”

We really only needed a place to sleep, as our festivities went into the night and left by 9am the next day. Our room had a door to the outside and there was a fountain outside our door that we heard all night, as the door didn't shut tight. The knob on the air conditioner was broke and we had to use a pliers to turn it on. The bed was very comfortable. They were in the middle of some renovations and only had one key per room.

“Not good value”

We had a number of problems: The clerk insisted on charging my credit card for a fully prepaid stay, which then had to be reversed when I continued to insist that our stay had been prepaid through Expedia. Upon checking into the room we found a full waste basket left by prior occupants. Our towels and sheets were never changed during our stay. The blankets were old, with burn holes and lots of pilling. Supplies were very low, with no replacements available in the room (toilet paper, tissues, etc.). We found the alarm clock unplugged; upon plugging it in we found it made loud humming noises and the alarm couldn't be set. The kitchenette had only two sets of utensils for a room that housed four people, no paper towels, a tiny tub for washing dishes that would not hold pots and pans, and a quarter inch of dishwashing detergent in the bottle. Breakfast was OK as long as you used refrigerated milk for your coffee; the coffee creamers were so old that they curdled. The desk was left unattended on the morning of checkout, so we just left the room keys with a note. The outside of the hotel is quite appealing; the inside, not so much. Our overall feeling was that this is a hotel that is living on the edge. We felt that we did not receive good value for our money. Two things that we did like quite a bit: hard-boiled eggs for breakfast and comfortable mattresses on the beds.

“Old and not clean room”

Our room was not vacuumed and the person in charge kept saying the vacuum just didn't pick it all up but that it had been vacuumed. The tub still had someones hair tie still on the tub ledge behind the shower curtain. Breakfast was late getting set up but was OK.
