The staff is friendly, helpful and accommodating, making for a pleasant experience. Room is simple but clean and new with excellent a/c and quality tv. Request for a chair was attended to immediately. I would have liked more sitting/desk/table options in the room and an additional door lock from the inside for peace of mind. A nice gem oherwise.

Todos fueron amables, la habitacion super linda y comoda. Solo dormimos una noche y no pudimos disfrutar de la piscina, pero las instalaciones estan muy cuidadas y el desayuno fue super rico tambien!

Worst ever! We had 2 phones ripped off from our room. My new iphone gone and all our vacation photos. They reviewed the surveillance video and only the cleaning guy was in the room while we were gone. They did nothing about it. I think the manager was in on the scam. Also the service people were rude or stupid, I'm not sure which. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels and never had anything missing until this time. Don't stay here. Even without the robbery I'd only give it 2 stars.

After being in a jungle lodge for a week this was a huge step up, but the bathroom is small, meaning the door doesn’t open all the way because it hits the shower tile and you have difficulty sitting properly on the toilet. I was in a single room built for smaller space. Staff was very friendly, food was good, near a fine square with great shops and restaurants.

Dirty room, no hot water
The public areas were clean and nice. I was on the 4th floor which was far away and not clean. I did not have hot water and the water pressure was almost none existent. The water to fill the toilet didn’t work either.

Close to Loud Discotheque
The Hotel El Dorado is a reasonable value for the money with one major limitation: it is two doors down from a discotheque that plays music well into the morning hours and the hotel vibrates to the base beat of the music, so sleep may be hard to come by — particularly if you are a light sleeper.

Terrible but no other choice
Hotel is at the best location of the town. Restaurants and all the other things at short walking distance. The rooms are wide enough but not maintained at all. My reservation was Superior Twin Room but they gave me a room with no windows. It was terrible... I have talk with the reception and reminded them my room must be Superior Twin not a room with no windows... Then I got a kind of suit at top floor. Room was really wide. Bathroom was terrible. There was a bath tab like jacuzzi. I am not sure if it was working but was not looking well to use it. T the other side of the bathroom, a narrow shower place. The problem is so narrow and you should set the water temperature while water is already on you. You might boil or freezing until you set the water temperature. There was carpet on the floor and looks like never ever cleaned or vacuumed A lot dirt and even glass pieces on the carpet... I am very sure millions of mites also... Wer have spent 3 nights in the hotel and they just replaced towels only. No cleaning at all... Breakfast is terrible... Only eggs and bread and juice only, every day... Actually, this hotel might be one of the best hotel in Iquitos because of its location but need some maintenance and mentality to keep it clean.

We loved the air conditioning, especially after 4 days without it in the Amazon Jungle. The no hassle check out was great. The facility was very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We could not print our airline's tickets, but the hotel clerk in the morning was able to help us! His name is Rafael!!

Think twice before booking this hotel
We were traveling to the Iquitos to catch our boat to the lodge on the Amazon, we had to overnight and saw this hotel on the site. We had traveled most of the day and got in around 7:00 and we were tired, once the cab driver found the hotel we checked in and went to the room and when he opened the door the smell was awful. Very bad mildew smell and we had to decide to we ask for another room or do they all smell this way? We kicked up the air conditioning and hoped it would help take out the smell, it didn't, we were glad to be there only one night.

The El Dorado is a refreshing haven in the heat and busyness of Iquitos. My room was disappointing in that it had no external light and had that licked up musty smell. There were repairs going on which were noisy and there was a strong chemical smell at times. The pool was lovely. I believe my room was clean but I suggest the cleaners are reminded that where the toilet seat joins on, also needs cleaning. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and I really appreciated their assistance.

HOTEL HAS POOR WEBSITE of 4 days only the first date I had internet access, THE FIRST ROOM OFFERED TO ME WAS RIGHT NEXT TO THE SWIMMING POOL's WALLS AS A RESULT YOU COULD SMELL MOLD!!! I requested to be changed and they did. No privacy the rooms have windows where people can see through!!as a result you need to have curtians closed and use poor light I will not go back!

The staff was nice and the bed was comfortable. Our room was a bit dirty and the restaurant had ants all over the tables in the morning for the buffet breakfast. I wasn’t very happy with the surprise 10% fee we had to pay at the property.

If I could give zero stars I would - awful place
The room was musty and wet, no windows, nasty rug, moldy lamp. We didn’t want to touch anything. And the worst part is no running water - not just oh no hot water - literally no running water. They kept saying oh 5 more minutes and 45 minutes later we had to leave so couldn’t shower, brush our teeth nothing. They didn’t even apologize or feel bad. Worst place we have ever stayed.

Get what you pay for if you pay the cheap prices. Be aware of a couple of scams. 1. Paying for taxes even when paid at time of booking. We were charged extra at time of check even though Expedia said all taxes were paid..other people have had same issue 2. The owner of El Dorado also owns the Hilton will often put pictures of the Hilton and claim its a room in El Dorada...and charge extra on arrival don't expect such a glamorous room. We paid about $68 (plus taxes) and thats about all the rooms are worth. No window small but clean and comfortable 3. The bus from the El Dorado is free.,.. they use the Hilton bus. However if you are staying the Hilton the same bus will cost anywhere from 11 US to 25 US per person depending on staff. Good hotel but be wary of scams. We only stayed on night and it suited our needs.

Not bad...
Cold water but clean. Evidently the cold water thing is typical in the region. It was the cleanest room we stayed at in the whole of Peru. . WiFi didn’t work in the room though.

Overall it was really good the only downside is they charged me and my friend a random fee. Mine was for service and my friends was for electricity.
