I was very pleasantly surprised when we checked in to the EconoLodge in Iron Mountain. I paid about $65 for the room, and did not have high hopes at all, but the room was great, big and decorated very tastefully. The bed spreads looked brand new, and fashionable. The staff when out of their way to make sure the could do any and everything to make our stay wonderful. The bed was so comfortable. I called down to the desk for another pillow and was supplied two of them. There was fresh baked cookies in the evening at the front desk, needless to say the kiddos loved that. We will be returning and do recommend.

Very nice, friendly staff! Rooms newly remodeled, not fancy, but comfortable. Price was very reasonable.

Pros: location
Cons: room was dowdy
Location: see above
When I checked in the only staff member was a trainee. The room she assigned me had not been cleaned. She gave me a different room, saying it had not been used for e weeks so it should be ready. She later told be that the maid had left a note that she had not cleaned the room, but the clerk had not checked the notes. She thought the manager might comp. me for the inconvenience, but the manager never showed up.

I was in shock.........

Cons: filthy!!!!
Upon entering the hotel itself I was disappointed. The floors were noticeably very filthy, as were the walls. I was immediately unsure, but was hopeful that our room would be different. We went up the steps and the second floor was horrendous. The floors were 'bumpy' and uneven, the carpeting was bunchy and it was just NOT kept up well at all. We had trouble finding our room, then noticed we had to go through a door in the middle of the hallway, that led to a lounge area, and through a door on the other side of the lounge area was a back hallway that had a few rooms, and ours was there. It was FILTHY inside. The comforters had numerous burn holes from cigarettes, the walls had black smudges all over, the carpeting was noticeably soiled, the lampshades were crooked, the side tables had 'crumbs' of some sort, the headboards were VERY dusty and you could SEE finger swipes in the dust, and the lamps had fingerprints/grime all over the bases. The stuffing was falling out of a chair and was hanging under neath, it was a NIGHTMARE. We notified the manager, she came up with her housekeeper, they wiped the dust from the headboard, tried to wipe the walls and informed me it was stained, and left within 5 minutes. I literally cried in disgust. We pulled back the sheets and there were stains. We notified the manager again, and she said, " I don't know what you want me to do... we came up there and cleaned it." I was in shock. We left, took a loss, and went to a nice hotel. Never again!!!

Pros: THE 24 HOUR POOL N SPA
Cons: THE BED WAS OLD AND HARD AS A ROCK, AND THE INTERNET DID NOT WORK, BREAKFAST COULD HAVE BEEN TILL 10AM FOR THOSE OF US USED TO "MOUNTAIN" TIME.
Location: LOCATION WAS FINE
I was dissappointed in my room at this hotel. The room was old and the bed was very hard. The internet never worked my whole 3 night stay. The people staying there were very loud and the floors literally shook when people would walk by. I did enjoy the pool and hottub that was opened 24 hours. But the breakfast was only opened till 9am and the coffee was always empty when I decided to have some. The last night I decided to move to a quieter room and a nice lady that worked there let me choose a new room. She offered me wither 314 or 308. I thought she was awesome and I was very grateful to have a quieter room! All in all, I won't go back there.
