Gorgeous Grifo
We spent five fantastic nights at the Grifo. So relaxing and welcoming. From the moment you arrive you realise you’ve made the right choice as it feels exclusive yet friendly tucked away from the main road. Our room was spacious, clean and it was worth a little extra for a balcony with a sea view. We spent a few nights sat outside relaxing and it’s great for drying swimwear. The spa was amazing and especially the hot pool after a long day sightseeing or on the beach. I paid for a massage and it worked wonders. Food was great with a fair choice at breakfast and they even treated my partner to some cake and Prosecco on her birthday that made it extra special (thanks to the brilliant Enzo who also made us a perfect coffee every morning). Reception team arranged us a scooter, ferry tickets and gave lots of tips for places with a smile. The shuttle bus worked around us and made it easy to get back and forth. Thoroughly recommend this hotel and very likely we’ll be back at some point. The owners were a lovely couple and you can see how they ensure guests are treated well and genuinely care.

The hotel is located away from the action, and we needed to rely on the free shuttle bus. We needed to plan our days as returning back and forth to the hotel was not easy. Nevertheless, we knew this when we booked. Every staff member was exceptionally friendly and helpful. And my five-star rating has been heavily influenced by the fantastic staff.

Expect personable and dedicated staff
We were impressed by the staff on our stay at this boutique hotel. They seemed to go over the top again and again. We did struggle with a few language challenges at times. But since we were in Italy--off the typical American tourist trail--we should know a bit more Italian. The cleaning staff was amazing as every blue tile sparked and we watched them scrub the pool area daily with mops. The chef was so personable that we felt like we were leaving an old friend when we checked out. The shuttle drivers were wonderful and one every sang at dinner on Saturday night.

We stayed days and I can’t say enough about what an amazing time we had. The hotel staff was amazing and the spa treatment I had was wonderful. The free shuttle to and from town was a huge plus. Pool was very relaxing and our room was very clean and comfortable.

Fantastic in every way. We spent 5 days in this beautiful family run boutique hotel. Set in a lovely quiet area which was exactly what we were looking for. The hotel provides ample daily free shuttles to the town centre. The shuttle driver- Antonio was a delight he was professional,friendly and on time every time. The whole hotel was immaculately clean, we were actually proud to stay in such a well looked after hotel.The chef Pasquale is a credit to them. The meals were varied, fresh and beautifully presented most importantly they were delicious. Now going to the hotels best asset..Enzo. their Maitre‘d.what an amazing guy. He made us feel welcome, loved and very well looked after. More importantly we could tell he was authentic. He literally was the highlight of our holiday. Federico the barman was also so nice, so professional and so welcoming.Francesco was singing one evening and he literally is so talented it was so good and he had the voice of an angel. The front desk team were very welcoming, speedily checked us in and we’re again so professional. Our room had a stunning view of Napoli bay/sea, was spotlessly clean , comfy bed and had modern furnishings.much loved hotel. Hotels gardens were very well looked after offering plants/flowers and privacy. Lastly we had a wonderful massage and used the wonderful spa facility. Which was beautiful with Turkish bath/sauna/huge whirlpool/therma pool and much more. I would highly recommend this hotel I will return in a heartbeat

The people the property were magnificent. The spa brings you into a world that I’ve never been in before. It felt sort of like Disneyland. The restaurant is quite good in fact better than some in the town. We only issue is that the hotel is not really near anything and you need to rely on taxis and their shuttle. If you didn’t care about anything else this would be the perfect place to spend a week.

Beautiful hotel with incredible views of Ischia. Very nice staff and cute rooms. Great shower! Eco-friendly with solar energy and a focus on saving energy. Hotel is at the top of a big hill but they have a shuttle that goes up and down to the port. Very peaceful and quiet property.

A truly special place
What a truly special place. We spent six nights at the Grifo earlier in the summer, and wouldn't hesitate to come back again and again. We've also recommended it to our friends and family! The hotel is the perfect size - not too big - and a fantastic team of staff remember you by name. Ischia is blessed with beautiful weather for the most part, but even when we experienced one stormy day during our stay, we felt we could relax in the hotel all day without needing to leave, alternating between the swimming pool and the luxurious on-site spa. Thank you for a wonderful holiday, and we can't wait to come back.

A very relaxing vacation. The Grifo Hotel has a great homely feel to it. Peaceful, relaxed and most enjoyable. The staff are genuinely lovely and very helpful. The hotel is spotlessly clean everywhere with a fabulous restaurant and great food both for breakfast and evening meals. Very comfortable with great outdoor swimming pool and indoor spa facilities. There is also a roof terrace but at the summer temperatures maybe too hot for some. The location is close to the Ischia port but far enough away so that you are not able to hear any traffic noise. The hotel is situated up a huge hill which is tough to walk up or down, but they have a solution for that in the form of a free shuttle service. There is a very good public bus service around the island which means there is no need to rent a car but there are plenty of opportunities to rent scooters or cars if you need. Reception can help with that too. In summary, we had the best holiday at the Grifo Hotel and would not hesitate to recommend it to everyone who appreciates the hard work and effort the team put into to making you welcome and comfortable. Perfect in every way.

An extremely well-run hotel in a good location on Ischia. We were impressed by every experience we had in our two-night stay and wished we could have stayed longer. The service is efficient but not cold. The restaurant is excellent. I would say our room was on the “basic” side but it was very clean and the bed quite comfortable.

The pool in the spa need to be hotter. Ayurveda massage needs to have the hot out drops with different oils on your forehead. This was not a true Ayurveda massage.

We enjoyed everything about the Grifo Hotel but the staff were absolutely outstanding. They were always ready to assist with whatever the issue and extremely helpful with restaurants and activities (which they recommend and/or which to avoid and why). The property is maintained meticulously and it's evident from the moment you step out of your car. Highly recommend this establishment.

Clean hotel and friendly staff. The Spa and the pool is excellent. The pool bar is a bit bla as our wine was room temperature. We were apparently "upgraded" from a deluxe room to a classic room. The rooms are a bit odd with tiles on the floor so it feels a bit outdated. It was also very noisy as you can hear everyone walking past your room. The local area is beautiful though as the hotel has free shuttle to the port and back which was very useful.

Very clean hotel with great facilities
There is a courtesy bus from the port to the hotel, this runs also throughout the day, you can also request to get a lift to the bus stop as it would be too far to walk. All the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was very clean, the who resort was extremely well maintained. Well worth a stay.

Lovely boutique stylish hotel with excellent rooms and great pool and gardens. The family run hotel with a great restaurant and excellent staff who could not have been more helpful. A special experience and we hope to return next year. We rented a car and came across on the ferry rather than using the hotel shuttle or taxis.

Beautiful hotel & wonderful, helpful & attentive staff. The restaurant was really good, very affordable and meal sizes were very big. I really like that they have the free shuttle bus for when you arrive and depart and throughout the day, it's a really great service and all the drivers are so professional. My only criticism is that the beds are not comfortable. Unfortunately the mattresses and pillows were very hard & sadly I had a really bad sleep during my stay. Updating the bedding (sheets, duvets and pillows) could resolve this. Other then that we had a wonderful time.

I chose this hotel based on other reviews and we were not disappointed. The hotel is charming, a boutique feel to it, spotlessy clean , wonderful views and the staff are all so,helpful and friendly. It is a little way outside of the port but the hotel shuttle takes you into the port and picks you up, so you can have that extra glass of wine with no driving! Lovely swimming pool and spa if you have time! Special thanks to Antiono, we will return.

We spent 6 nights at The Grifo Hotel in July. It was a fantastic stay. The rooms and grounds are excellent and in immaculate condition. There is a great spa. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Paola on reception and Mantel (driver/waiter/maintainance). The holiday was very relaxing and peaceful. Friendly boutique hotel
Excellent stay. Small hotel, spotlessly clean with staff who go the extra mile to make sure you're happy. A little way out of town but with a very good free shuttle service. The pool is not large but big enough for swimming and plentiful sun-beds. Food was good, breakfast largely continental style but always fresh.
