Igloo in GrenoblePosted Nov 15, 2013
Pros: Location, wifi.
Cons: Central heating. Cleanliness (dust on side tables).
I am a regular visitor to the city and chose the hotel mainly due to its proximity to the railway station. Arrived 9pm in a cold winter evening (circa 2C outside temp) and was given a room at the top floor. On entry the room felt cold and the radiator of the central heating was cold too. I thought that this is an intermittent issue and that the heating would be turned on later in the evening. At approx 10.30pm called reception to report the problem and the member of staff said "I will see what I can do about that". However, nothing happened. A very uncomfortable night passed which became manageable by wearing several layers of cloths. I would not recommend staying there again unless you pick a day with warm weather outside.

Good valuePosted Jan 22, 2013
Although we arrived early we were immediately given the key to our room. The desk staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is only five minutes walk from the rail and bus stations [and only ten minutes walk to the old city] but the street is very quiet.

Not spectacular - but what do you expect for the price. Friendly and helpful staff, cheap and cheerful. Handy for the station and the bars/restuarants in Grenoble.

Worth the weekend rate, not really worth the weekday ratePosted Sep 16, 2011
Worth the weekend rate, not really worth the weekday rate Came in on a weekend night for , wanted to spend more time in Grenoble but didn't want to find another hotel, weekday rate is half again as much. It was your basic 2 star hotel. Very clean, staff helpful, provided me with city map. Close to train station & walkable distance to the old town sights & the Telepherique sky cars. FYI: for summers: No A/C which is probably usually not needed, but first day was hot - though room cooled down quickly with open window at night.
