We had a nice stay here. Very pretty facility and building. The included breakfast in the connected restaurant was great, and the restaurant staff was very friendly. We did have bed bugs, but thats not entirely in their control. When we let the staff know they moved us to a new room right away. :) The outdoor area around the pool is beautiful and has lots of small wildlife: you can spot gheckos and birds in the surrounding trees. Our water was having some issues and wouldnt work somtimes. But I think that may have just been because they were doing some work on the system. The two kitties that live there are super sweet and cute. Overall it was a nice stay, the island is beautiful!!

The hotel was the perfect place for us. Location was a short walk to everywhere we wanted to go. Nights were quiet. The pool and grounds were beautiful. Will definitely stay there again on our next trip.

Location was great. Close enough to the action to walk, but far enough that it was quiet. Loved that you could hang out at their sister property’s beach club. Highly recommend this hotel.

Good location - Horrible amount of noise.
The Hotel is really pretty, the staff is friendly. BUT the amount of noise is terrible. I understand that it is located on the Main Street coming into town, but better doors and windows would have made the rooms in the front tower way more comfortable. It is not the hotel to go to if you want a few days of rest. We had to change rooms because the first room had no hot water and the ceiling fan was broken, the staff was accommodating and moved us to another room (although the second room water was barely room temp warm). Great location in regards to the ferry and the plaza, if that is what you are looking for. But again, not the hotel for some days of peace and quiet.

We only stayed one night. The reception was very friendly, but it rained that night and we had no shower, no sink or no toilet for a couple hours. Then our door handle came off, couldn’t leave until that was fixed and that took a while to have someone come out. Apparently the owner of the building lives in America and didn’t seem in a rush to fix our door. The showers n sink eventually worked after the rain. But our room was clean and had a nice balcony.

Ovwral it was ok but it could have been better. Tthey could work on their greeting and make the lobby a bit nicer. Honestly, we were confused at first if we were at the right place because when we arrived to the lobby, a bunch of people were sitting there and no one greeted us or said anything until we asked where we could do the check-in. I'm not a big fan of their eveyother day cleaning service. Out the 4 days and 3 nights we were there, our condo was never cleaned so I had to go ask for a change of towels. There's only AC inside the room which makes it hard to enjoy the rest of the condo when is as hot as it was when we were there. I'm not sure if anyone keeps an eye on the property during the night because there were loud people in the pool until late at night and their kid was jumping in the pool regardless of the "no diving " signs which lead to the water that came out of the pool to make a big puddle in the lobby.

There is a lot of construction happening at the hotel and it was very noisy the majority of the day time. There was a hole in the path near the pool that is unsafe. Power was out when we arrived- probably because of the construction since facilities around had power. That issue was fixed by night. No ac or microwave in the room but there is availability in a nearby shared space. Staff was friendly. When the construction is done it will be great.

Excellent check in with friendly staff. Quaint and clean room. Very close to everything including ferry . Garden area and pool in need of work. It would have been good to have a fridge.

Pool was nice and felt like you were in a jungle. Location was great...centrally located to everything. Staff was helpful and friendly. It was kinda hard to find tho, and no one we asked knew where it was. Once we found it tho it was great!

Is a little expensive for the place, the pictures in expedia aren't right. The rooms are clean, big and the people working there are nice, but the place doesn't look the same in the pictures

This is a really great value. While it’s not beach front, it’s a super short walking distance to the good beaches and restaurants. Clean, fresh and large rooms. Would def stay there again!

I liked that the property was clean, it had friendly staff, and I was able to enjoy my stay. The only thing that I had an issue with was the a/c not working properly.

Casa Barbara is located three blocks from the ferry which is great. It's a 10 minute walk from the closest beach and even closer to so many restaurants, bars, stores and public spots. The rooms are clean, the pool wonderful. The whole property is well maintained, the staff are super. Loved our stay at Casa Barbara.

Preferred over beach rates. Safe and quiet
The courtyard rainforest feel is charming complete with birdsong and pool to cool off in midday. Great A/C, fabulous coffee. The local ballpark noise lured us there several times. Games and salsa music live. Easy walk or bike ride to everywhere.

Quiet in Holbox
A quiet place to stay in a busy area close to ferry and beach, about half way. Easy walk. No coffee pot in room, bit hot coffee and roll in the morning. Very comfortable bed. Great for families and a pool. Not great WiFi, but useable.

Poor value for money.
This hotel was in a good location. I’m not normally a person who complains about hotels but the first room I was in has a serious musty smell upon arrival and the bathroom odour was unbearable. The second day I requested a change of room and the new room was much better. After 5 days I had to ask for the towels to be changed and I basically had to retrieve the towels myself. I will say that the maids kept the room nice but still didn’t change the towels. The breakfast consisted of poor coffee and sweet cookies or pastries. Not a very good breakfast. The wifi was non existent in the rooms only in the eating area and pool area. Not impressed and considering the price I’m sure there are better places on the Island.

Clean, convenient location between the ferry and the beach. Nice gardens, covered patio with table at each room’s entrance. Only downside was lack of hot water we experienced. Given warm temps it wasn’t too big of an issue. Pool looked nice, we didn’t use.

The room was attractive and the grounds are lush and beautiful. The wifi rarely worked, and there was no hot water in the shower, and no water pressure in the shower. The beds are extremely hard and uncomfortable, like sleeping on a box spring. Staff gave us one towel each at a time. No hand towels, no washcloths. There was sand on the floor most of the time, the maid only swept once and mopped once during our week stay. The pool was unheated and too chilly to use.

The hotel is close to the town central and within walking distance to the ferry. Theres a mini market across the street. Staff was friendly and room was clean. Con was the water pressure which was ver low. Ask for a room near the pool as its a bit more quiet.

Great Place and a Great Value
We really liked this hotel--beautiful gardens and a very friendly staff. There's no pool deck, but there are hammocks and chairs in the garden. It's less than a five minute walk to the center of town and less than a ten minute walk to the beach. The room was clean, and comfortable. We had one small problem with the sink but it was taken care of quickly. Overall, great place and a great value.

Serene Setting
This was our second stay at Hotel Barbara. The rooms are large and super clean with nice Mexican decor. The staff works hard to keep the beautiful, shaded grounds and large pool immaculate. They promote a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. Very nice and great value.

Quiet hotel near all the action
We stayed here 3 nights. This hotel was near the action, so we just had a short distance to walk. It was also a 15 minute walk to the beach
