Exelente hotelPosted Dec 12, 2014
Pros: Su playa

Excellent hotel on the beach.Posted Dec 1, 2014
Pros: We liked everything about this hotel, especailly the beach.
Cons: More staff in the Satay Restaurant.
Location: It's a short walk into the little town. Everything that is available in Cancun is also abailable through the travel representative at this hotel.
This is the second consecutive year we've stayed at this hotel in November in a Deluxe Suite (all-inclusive). It's a first class hotel with beautiful comfortanble rooms, eating facilities, grounds, and beach. The food and beverage manager, Augustine, and his whole staff make it clear their every effort is to make the guest's stay and experience the best possible. The food quality and service were both excellent, and the food options quite wide-ranging - something for every taste. We'll be back next year! RECOMMENDATION: when selecting the port from which to leave Cancun to Isla Mujeres, recommend Puerto Juarez, which we used last year. This year we used Tortuga Beach and it was more inconvenient in that the distance to/from the boat to land transportation at the port was longer and more difficult which is especially inconvenient during hot, cold, or rainy weather.

Sea by hotelPosted Nov 27, 2014
Pros: It was quiet and relaxing and the junior suites were very good
Cons: Beach Bar needed
Location: location fairly remote we wanted to go swimming with whale sharks but it was out of season, it was no good for snorkelling.
Hotel was close to the sea unfortunately on several days there was a terrible smell of sewerage and the sand going into the sea you sank into also the sea was full of something in it the reception admitted it was sewerage. It could do with a beach bar as you had to walk back up to the pool bar for a drink.

Off the beaten pathPosted Nov 11, 2014
My fiance and I were seeking a beach getaway that did not involved the typical massive crowds you would find at an all-inclusive Cancun resort. A friend recommend Holbox as "off the beaten path" where we would feel removed from the usual hustle and bustle. Among our choices on Holbox, the Villas Paraiso del Mar was a great choice. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, the rooms were cleaned, and access to the beach was only steps away from our room. We were disappointed in the amount of things to do - we tried to ride bicycles into town, but the bikes were in terrible condition and we had to cut the trip short. We did make use of the kayaks which were okay. Otherwise there was not that much to do. (Had we come during Whale Shark season, I might have different things to say.) The one warning I have is that this island was swarming with mosquitoes. I'm not sure how we missed this in our research, but come prepared. I spent days lying on the beach in jeans and long sleeves, and often had to return to the room because I was still getting bit. This was no fault of the hotel, but realize this is an issue if you want to come to Holbox.
