The Hermitage Country House - Guest House

Far too far away from civilisation which was not apparent when booking. The team tried very hard but the place seems to be run on a shoestring. We were were only there for a couple of nights and that was enough. Overall standards were below expectation

It was the perfect hotel for the Island. The staff managed to strike a great balance between and attention and being relaxed. The evening meal was a pleasant surprise, much better than I was expecting. Would definitely stay there again. Only small niggle, it is quite hard to find and the directions on the website are very helpful, so if you are going to stay there make sure you can find it.

We had a very enjoyable stay and the welcome and service we received were exceptional

Certainly would book here on next visit to Island and already recommended to friends. Thought we knew Island well but this Hotel tucked away as it is was a wonderful surprise. Made so welcome. Compensated for unfortunate dreadful weather.

Very friendly, armchairs in our room VERY tired and uncomfortable, no milk on tea tray, TV not working properly. VERY small portions at dinner although very tasty. Food and wine very expensive. Fortunately booked through Expedia, not worth non Expedia price. Lovely setting and building, let down by the above comments. The devil's in the detail!

We arrived late and the chef yet preppared a nice meal for us. I like that. Very friendly staff :)

Quite charming hotel with friendly staff. Super breakfast . Book evening meal here as it is a lovely relaxed dining room , great service and good value compared with sea view so called restuarants . This hotel is hidden away in the countryside .
