Rooms were nicely laid out.
Otherwise, air conditioning was poor. At first we thought it was in need of repairs. We asked for someone to look at it. We ended up having to ask four times before someone finally came up, and only 2 days later. Room continued to be too warm.
Staff are dressed casually (as they like) and mostly act that way as well. They were nice enough, but not really working as you'd expect for what's supposed to be a 4-star hotel.
This was definitely more like a 3 or 3.5-star at best. As a 4-star, one would expect more. Floors of room had stains. Breakfast was not too bad. Mostly, it was too far away from anything if you're looking to see Paris's attractions.
So overall, not a bad hotel, but not up to par for a 4-star, and badly located. Would not return, and I wonder if Novotel hotels are like that everywhere.
