Ideal location but for the smell of sewage

Posted Feb 1, 2015
Pros: Great views on terrace. Staff friendly. Breakfast good varieties, hot & cold. Room size good, shaver, shoe polish, shoe horn, bedroom slippers, kettle
Cons: Room comfort rated 1 due to sewage smell, some days strong, nauseating.
Location: Convenient, close to tram stops, high street, restaurants, 5-10 mins walk to Basilica Cistern, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque.
Great Tripadvisor reviews led me to book this hotel. Passed by Blue Mosque walking to hotel from Sultanahmet tram station. Busy area, many tourists, shops, street traders. Hotel room attractive but strong smell of sewage from bathroom. Complained twice to Reception was told most hotels had this problem, nothing can be done. Finally moved to another room, still smell of sewage but less strong. Discovered most rooms smell even toilet next to lounge. Stairs to higher floors, no lift so not advisable for less able. Cannot bring food back to room. No complain about hotel except the unpleasant smell. If you want a very expensive dinner in a mediocre restaurant with poor service, then go to Akiyik Restaurant on the way to hotel. Was persuaded by a bald man at front of restaurant to eat there after asking for direction to Angel Home Hotel. Bottle of water on every table, not asked if you want it, waiter just opened & poured water into glasses, charged 9 Lira. Waiter brought tray of seafood to table, persuaded & pressurised to order most expensive item up to 300 Lira. Chose a smaller whole grilled fish on a shared plate - 160 Lira! Waiter brought tray with choice of starter. Each small plate of starter 9-15 Lira. Ordered 2 starters. Total bill 210 Lira. Waiter waited, tap finger on table for tips at bill payment. Recommend Baran 2 Restaurant at High Street close to tram stop, Turkish food, reasonable price. Good cheap grilled fish at Fish Market by Galata Bridge

Knutschsüßes authentisches Hotel

Posted Jan 27, 2015
Pros: Die Aussicht, die Zentrumsnähe, die Ruhe, der Service, der Preis
Cons: Nein!
Saubere Zimmer, gratis Kaffee, Tee, Gebäck + Wasser. Super Buffet auf der Dachterrasse mit wunderschönem Blick auf´s Meer, Blaue Moschee und Hagia Sophia. Mehr geht nicht. Wenn Istanbul, dann wieder ins Angel´s Home Hotel. Zudem günstige Zimmerpreise.

Well priced hotel in convenient location

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Pros: Location - just 5 minute walk from the plaza of Blue Mosque /Hagia Sophia. Breakfast - we lingered for 1 to 1 1/2 hours there every morning.
Cons: Kitchenette in suite was not furnished with any utensils.
Location: Besides the Sultanahmet attractions we walked to Grand Bazaar and to Ferry terminal for an evening across the Bosporus in Kadakoy.
With 5 guests we booked a suite (2 bedrooms, common room plus kitchenette) for 3 nights. The suites are a block away from the main hotel. The telephone did not connect us to the lobby so for any requests we needed to go there. The hotel looks very nicely fixed up, and the suite was nice but not up to the same standard. Breakfast is delightful full turkish buffet of salads, pastries, and hot dishes, served on the rooftop enclosed terrace with nice views of the Blue Mosque and the Sea of Marmara.

Posted Jan 23, 2015

Muy buena experiencia

Posted Jan 22, 2015

Ottima posizione

Posted Jan 7, 2015
Pros: posizione, personale, servizi
