We spent there a whole week, the hotel itself is lovely, clean, furnished with taste, and very close (5 min walk) from the main sights (Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, etc). The staff is very friendly yet professional.

Good Hotel, Covers the Basics
Posted Jan 9, 2013
Pros: Good breakfast, friendly staff
Location: Easy to get to all the major attractions
My husband and I spent 2 nights here. The rooms are simple, decent sized and clean. Breakfast was good with several choices. This hotel is an short easy walk to the Blue Mosque and Higia Sophia. There are lots of little restaurants nearby and a corner store for any essentials that you might need to buy. The hotel is tucked away and would have been hard to find on our own but we got a taxi from the airport and printed the directions off for the taxi driver (in Turkish) from their homepage which seemed to help our driver.

We stayed for 5 days and enjoyed the friendly and helpful staff. our clean and simple room looked out over the rooftops to the sea, lovely! The walk to the hippodrome is very steep, but passes by Denizen coffee - a great place to stop before heading to see the sights.

A little disapointing.

The hotel was quite difficult to find (cabs could not access the narrow street it's on) and although we got upgraded to a "suite" our room left to be desired. We only stayed one night.

A pleasant option for the young and healthy

A clean, safe hotel w/ very accommodating staff, minutes away from the Blue Mosque and w/ beautiful views from the rooms and the breakfast area. Wonderful option for a young couple (no kids) out for a few days in Istanbul, if they want to stay in the historic core of the city to enjoy the museums, mosques, etc (but the same young couple might consider spending at least part of their time in the city in Beyoglu - that part is more fun). Now for the negatives. It’s in a small lane that is hard to find: give the cab driver the hotel phone so he can talk his way there. The blocks around the hotel must have been fairly decayed, w/ hotels and B&Bs seemingly a recent addition, but enough dilapidated buildings remain. Terrain is VERY hilly: to get to main sites you have to climb up and down quite a bit. I was happy I didn't have to lug a sleeping child on my shoulder through that stretch. Luckily we were there during Ramadan, when the area is alive late at night w/ locals breaking the fast. At other times it might be a lot spookier after dark. Breakfast buffet is rudimentary and you have to climb a flight of stairs w/ the plates to enjoy the terrace. The first night they didn't have good rooms available (apparently, their basement room is so bad, they themselves avoid using it), so we were sent instead right across the lane to the Divas Hotel. That hotel is neither as pretty, nor as comfortable (though still adequate), but certainly serves a much better breakfast.
