“Great Hotel and value”
A very good hotel. Friendly staff and well located, try the fish restaraunt across the street. Also, the Turkish bath is good to try at the hotel. I would recomend staying there.
“Great value for the price. Would stay again.”
We were very pleased with the hotel and the staff. They couldn't have been more helpful. Also, the location was great for sightseeing in the "old city", and the complimentary breakfast buffet was superb. In addition, the hotel was very clean, as was our room. Our only complaints were these: Our room was rather cramped and oddly shaped, however we saw other rooms and they were fine. Also, a bit of plaster kept falling from the ceiling in two spots, and the shower tended to leak onto the floor just a bit. None of these were major inconveniences, though, and we would definitely stay here again.
“Fantastic service and amazing value!”
I stayed in Istanbul at the Artefes Hotel with two friends from college for 6 nights, and we couldn't believe how amazing our experience was for the price! The hosts went out of their way to make us comfortable - serving cookies and tea upon our arrival, taking their time to explain how to get where we wanted to go around town, making our reservations at restaurants, etc. Artefes is located just steps from the Blue Mosque, and is perfect for touring the major Istanbul sights. We stayed in a triple room, which was small but comfortable and clean. We also enjoyed the breakfast on the roof terrace every morning (which is included in the price of your stay), which featured yogurt, eggs, cereals, cheeses, sausage, and other yummy Turkish pastries. Couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough!
“Perfect Location”
the staff was very helpful despite missing a wake-up call or two, they provided good information, and arranged tours and pick-ups in a timely fashion. this hotal has an awesome location across the street from an authentic tea house. the roof deck provides excellent views of the Blue Mosque and the Sea of Marmara, and also the Asian side of Istanbul. you will only a few blocks from the sea, and the mosque, with all Sultanahmet sights within easy walking distance. if you want to do any cruises or ferries, take a cab from this hotel to the piers for 10 Lira (a little more than $5) for a quick 10 minute ride. the breakfast is decent, and late night drinks on the roof are awesome. there is a small store one block up the hill from the hotl corner where you cand buy wine, beer, and Raki (must try). bed is hard, tv is small, don't drink tap water, bring an alarm clock, and stylish walking shoes.
“I'd definitely would go back.”
I was amazed by the hotel service and how they took care of "you". I had a long walk trying to get to the hotel (even though I found out I later there was a slight short cut than where I went) and I was tired and hot, when I got in, they greeted me and then ask if I would like something to drink. That was a great introduction to the service they kept showing throughout my 4 days. They quickly gave me a map of the area and where the major sites were and answered my general questions of where a local grocery store was and so on and so forth. The rooms are cozy and relaxing. I did feel uncomfortable with the sqeeky floor that I had, (I was always thinking that I was bothering my neighbors below me). Other than that the beds were nice and comfortable; bathroom were nice. A great feature of the hotel was the terrace - wonderful view of the sea and the mosques, which made breakfast very enjoyable besides the other meals that they served. Food was well done and fresh. When I checked out, I received my bill of charges that I accumulated from my dinner and laundry done, I found extra charges that I recognized not having to do with, but they checked their receipts and they recognized their error and quickly apologized and dismissed the charges. Before I left, they helped me with clear directions for my next endeavor. Very helpful. When I go back to Istanbul and I need a hotel, I would definitely go back. The location, price and inclusion of breakfast makes it well worth it.
“Great stay in Istanbul”
The hotel's location was excellent for seeing all the major sites. The rooms were clean and the roof-bar offered a great view. Artefe's staff was very friendly and supportive and nearby restaurants offered excellent food. I definately recommend this hotel.
“Charming Hotel in Great Location”
We loved our stay at Artefes in Istanbul! The staff was so kind and helpful--from the welcome drinks to tour recommendations to the early check in. The breakfast was very authentic, delicious, and plentiful and served in a room with beautiful views of the sea and the Blue Mosque. The room was small (to be expected), but very clean and comfortable. The location was terrific--less than 10 minutes walk to the Blue Mosque and Hippodrome, less than 15 minutes to the Ayasofia, Topkapi Palace, and the Basilica Cistern. We will return the next time we are in Istanbul and will definitely recommend to friends and family!

We were delighted with our bright clean airy room on the 3rd floor, excellent room service and beautiful breakfast selection. The Hotel is in an excellent quiet location, with terras views overlooking the Sea of Marmara and Sultan Ahmet (Blue Mosque). The staff were available 24 hours and very friendly and helpful, ensuring a very pleasant stay.We highly recommend this great value Hotel and will definitely stay again on our next trip to Istanbul.
“Great little jewel in Istanbul”
This is a nice little hotel in Istanbul, very close to all the major attractions in the old city but just far away from the tourist buzz. Close to some nice local restaurants and very helpful staff, knowledgeable about tours etc. Nice enjoyable stay, will visit again. Limited english tv channels though.
“Suitable hotel but not luxury”
The hotel staff was very friendly. Breakfast offered many additional options when compared to other local hotels.
