“Our Turkish Experience”

My husband and I loved the hotel especially its location. We walked everywhere (major touristic sites such as Ayasofya and the Blue Mosque). The staff was amazing, very welcoming!

“Great value in Sultanamet, Istanbul”

Be welcomed with an invitation to take tea and the experience is off to a great start. Small and very adequate rooms with exemplary attention to your comfort. Generous traditional breakfast buffet..fruit,olives,tomato,cheese selection,breads-sweet and savoury,cereals all meticulously presented. English speaking staff interested in maximizing your Istanbul experience. Comfortable walking distance....10-15 minutes.... to tram, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and Ayasofia. Use the rooftop terrace for an indulgent read in the sun. Locale may alarm on first arrival but after exploring Istanbul, you will be comfortable in the Ayasofya Hotel "hood". We walked everywhere day and night. Thanks Gaye and staff.

“Compact but friendly”

Hotel was friendly and just down the hill from the main hippodrome. The area around the hotel is friendly and there are several good places to eat cheaply and well within a few minutes walk. Only warning is dont use the hotels transfer service to the airport as it is very easy to hail a taxi for about half the price.

“Good price, great staff”

Fair enough price. Clean rooms and excellent staff. I definitely recommend this hotel.

“Adequate.”

Ayasofya was a small hotel trying to squeeze into the boutique market. It's location, staff and decor was not of a boutique standard. However once you got used to the area the hotel offers an interesting glance into Istanbul. The breakfast was very nice. We booked a triple but ended up with a double and a sofa bed i.e. not what we had paid for. After having to involve the owner we were moved to the right room so watch out here what you are paying for. In fact that's a lesson to bear in mind throughout Istanbul!

“Looked better than it delivered”

On arrival I was told that because I had asked for a big bed (I am 1.93m tall) I could not be accommodated in the Hotel and I was taken to a room down the road and round the corner.The room was OK but nothing special. I didn't see other rooms in the main hotel. The staff were nice and helpful, the location was within walking distance of the Blue Mosque and the Tram so it was Ok to get around. The breakfast was OK and the cleanliness was fine. I booked at a different hotel for when I returned to Istanbul from Iraq, and found the other hotel cheaper, more convenient, better appointed and with equally helpful staff. So I was left with the impression that Ayasophya was not as good value for the money. Disappointing, as it looked good on the website.

“tough stay”

Even though I booked 3 weeks prior, upon arrival, there was no room for me. They sent me to another hotel. The next day I wanted to stay in the same hotel, they made me come back to ayasofa as the room was now ready. I do have to say the workers are very polite and management is very professional. I could barely make a 360 turn in the bathroom, toilet wont shut up either. Location is fairly good but a bit confusing to get to as its not on a main street. Breakfast is decent.
