Overpriced for the conditions. Outdated and run-down. Bathrooms were updated but poor craftmanship. Plaster and paint peeling from the walls. Had to request a different room after waking up with horrible back pain due to mattress caving in the center. The bed in our second room was better, though. Breakfast was disappointing. We won't be returning to this hotel.

The person who checked me in made an inappropriate comment about spending the night in the room with me. The hotel itself is also very dark.

Great Hotel in the heart of Fatih
The hotel is very convenient to transport, shopping and tourist attractions. Staff are very helpful and curtious. The room was clean and had all amminites that one could need within walking distance from Fatih metro station. There are three supermarkets within 100 yard from the hotel. Breakfast was full of every thing one would like to have.

Nice place for the price. Close to action.
Spent 3 nights in July for the hotel price you get your money worth. The place is close to night action as well as historical areas. Breakfast was awesome , wifi is acceptable, frugal but nice

Close to mosque and nice neighborhood.
I used that hotel before you I enjoy the small stores throughout the street. It is near Ahmed Alfatih mosque (walking distance).

disappintment over hotel service level
I will rate the hotel 4 stars at the most. the family room was smelly the day we to leave the hotel the receptionist told us we can not get a taxi outside as we had to much luggage so we had to book a van through the hotel and the price given us was 85 TL but we insisted to book a taxi from outside and the price given us by taxi driver was 45 TL so a saving of 40 TL almost double what the hotel wanted to charge us . And when we waved good bye to the hotel entrance guy he was arrogant we responded by shaking his head lightly and not his hand I reckon that was very rude ( might been upset as we did not book a taxi through the hotel as they miss out on commission they get)

Nice hotel with excellent staff.
The hotel is close to the Istanbul site seeing premises. Room was in very good condition, clean and tidy for the whole stay. There is underground garage in the hotel and this is very good for those who travel to Istanbul by car. Breakfast is buffet, although there is the same choice every day. Please notice that close to the hotel there is mosque which means that early in the morning you will experience very load prays from the neighboring minarets.

Very good hotel near Fati Cami (mosque)
It was easy to get to the hotel from the airport. Take the M1a/b train and get off Emniyet-Fatih station. Facilities were good and most of staff spoke English. I took the tram a couple of stations to get to the Blue and Adasofiya mosques and thw Palace so it' not too far from Eminonu area and you could take a 20-30 minute walk to get there. I travel alot and this hotel room was good and clean but lacked shampoo and enough towels, and compared to other 4 star hotels it's not on the same level.

Simple hotel nothing like a 4* lacks a lot of the modern fixtures and fittings. Location is close to the main faith shopping district. 100 yards from the faith mosque Very noisy as it is on the main road

A few friends needed a hotel for one night, just needed it to sleep, because the entire day was spent shopping and sightseeing before we headed to Konya for business. A bit over priced for the quality.

Had a great stay
I had a great stay at Berr hotel. It is obviously an older hotel, but the management has taken many steps to update it and provide you with the best possible experience. The rooms are kept clean. Smoking seems to be allowed in some rooms (you can smell it walking in the halls). There is a turkish bath and massage service located on floor -3. The hotel is located just south of Fatih Mosque in a not very touristy area. This had pros and cons. Pro - everything is CHEAP in the immediate area. Con - there is graffiti and some side streets look pretty sketchy (we had no incidents however). It is a 5-10 minute walk to the Fındıkzade Tram station (VERY convenient), there are two grocery stores REALLY close by (one is directly across the street).

The Berr Hotel is a comfortable , well maintained hotel . It is situated quite a bit away from the main attractions but is only about 15 mins walk (uphill) to the tramway.The rooms are spacious and clean but are getting a little worn. The bathroom was spotless and room service was fine. Breakfast was typically Turkish but ther was plenty and very adequate.

The hotel location is good and close to the histroical places with very quiet and nice neighborhood
The hotel location is very nice, it is not far from the famous Sultan Ahmed mosque and the neighborhood is very quiet and very nice. The hotel staff are very helpful and professional. Rooms are well equipped with all the necessary things.

Good Hotel at a reasonable Price
The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. The hotel is reasonably priced. The hotel is close to subway station which makes it very convenient for going to the airport and/or connecting to the light rail systems (trams) for site seeing. There is also a currency exchange place with good exchange rates and no commissions within 5 minutes of the hotel (do not exchange currency at the hotel). The Post Office (PTT) is also within 7 to 8 miutes from the hotel. The breakfast offered by the hotel is also very good. Our room had a great air conditioning unit. The refrigerator on the other hand did not work as well. The furnishing in the room is comfortable but out dated. You should bring your own toiletories (such as shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.) since there are not provided by the hotel. Generally, you would expect for a 4-star hotel to provide such basic items. Overall, we had a very good experience at this hotel.

Worst hotel I've ever experienced
Taking me over an hr to arrive from the airport, if I had not arrived so late I would have changed immediately. Filthy, the entire hotel and room would not pass for a one-star. It had a terrible odor, was in a very sketchy location, and I did not find the staff very helpful. The other guests were loud and I could hear them through the walls the entire evening. The carpet was separated from the floor/walls, and it was obvious the bathroom had only been cleaned in the obvious places. Due to its unsavory nature, I slept with the light on. I also wore long pants and a long-sleeve shirt and socks and covered the pillow with a t-shirt. I kept my shoes on when walking around and used sandals in the shower.

Fine for the money
The hotel room was very good,the food was rather ordinary for a four star status,however the hotel is placed very attractively near shops and good restaurants,even the local metro is a 10min walk away so getting to other tourist spots is no problem.The room service is a bit lazy though they had to be reminded everyday to change the towels !! The food served by the restaurant within the hotel is above average but not delicious but the staff are very friendly.Will definitely stay there again if we go back to Turkey
