It's a great hotel. Lobby is very clean and comfortable. Rooms and bathrooms are newly refurbished and redecorated. There is a safe in your room for your cash, valuables, papers, etc. Staff is fluent in English and goes out of their way to help you. We didn't have a chance to try out their Turkish baths although they look nice and clean. The continental breakfast at the hotel, served in the rooftop restaurant, is better than most and offers "continental" and "local" foods - all are great. There are also good restaurants all around the hotel. We felt comfortable walking around at night.

“A Great Little Place to Stay if You want to visit the sights of Istanbul”

As this was my first time booking a hotel via the internet, and with Expedia, I must say that I was impressed with the entire service from start to finish. The Best Western Empire Palace is a great little hotel to stay at if you want to be near the main tourist spots of Istanbul. The staff, were very friendly, and helpful. The Terrace level where breakfast was served everyday provided an outstanding view of Bosphorus. Also, the outside patio area was a wonderful place to have a nice cold beer after a day of sight seeing. Most places were walking distance, and if you wanted to take the tram, the stop was just a short walk up the street. We could not ask for anything more.

“Superb Accommodation - And So Close To The Main Attractions!”

We recently stayed at this great hotel for four nights; after a fantastic flight with BA, we arrived at our hotel (after a slightly scary taxi jorney!). On arrival we received a warm welcome, and were given all the basic information we needed. The bellboy took our luggage up, and showed us all the necessary things for the room. The room itself was well applinted, clean and had everything we needed. It wasn't the widest of rooms as some of your other reviewers have noted, but it was certainly big enough and long enough to fit in a queen size bed, another single bed, a minibar and TV, a dressing table and a wardrobe (and sufficient room to get around). It could have done with some more drawer space, but we made the most of the available options! During our stay, the staff were consistently polite and helpful, and at no point did we feel disappointed. Our satisfaction was certainly enhanced by this hotel's nearness to all the top attractions, and yet not once did we feel any bustle, hassle or pressure. Highly recommended!!!

“comfy and close to everything”

this hotel is right on the trolley tracks. it was extremely easy to walk to everything -- 10 minutes to the docks, 10 minutes to the blue mosque and hagia sophia, 15 minutes to the grand bazaar, 5 minutes to topkapi palace. the service was very helpful and friendly. the room was larger than i expected, though the bed was a trifle hard.

Hotel was in a good location so you can walk to all the sights in the old town. Breakfast was good with ok views over Istanbul from the roof top restaurant. Staff spoke english and were generally very helpful. The main tram goes past the front of the hotel which runs frequently. You can also walk to where the ferries leave and the main train station. We had a fab time and would recommend it

This hotel is centrally located in the Sultan ahmet district. It is only 50 meters from the nearest tram stop so it is extremely easy to get around the city. The breakfast on the roof-top terrace is huge and fresh. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Great hotel for a great price!

“Central Istanbul Lovely Hotel”

Great place to stay in central Istanbul. Within walking distance of Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, the Spice Market, and the Grand Bazaar. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The roof-top restaurant is lovely but be prepared to have fun ordering from waiters who speak limited English. They have a great sense of humor and are very eager to please. We had a lot of fun there!
