nice location, helpful staff

the hotel is well located in the old city. my room can see Aya Soophia from the window. the staff are very nice and helpful. the rooms are clean and good sized. there are a lot of restaurants on the street. don't go to the fish house. expensive and charge us a lot under the name of tax. normally restaurants don't do.

Pros: location
Cons: food in the breakfast buffet a pool!
Location: in the heart of sultanahmet
great location in the heart of the tourist area. near good transport links. very small rooms. breakfast had a lot of expired food. felt the staff were too fake friendly to make money.

Excellent Location Great Staff

First, remember this hotel is in the centre of old Istanbul and you can literally walk to the most important ‘touristy’ places. Second, accept the fact that the rooms are small (because of the first). Third, this hotel is bang in the centre of a street full of cafes and bars and so somewhat noisy in the evenings. Now relax and enjoy the stay. We did, for 7 nights in April. The rooms were quite clean (cleaned everyday) and the breakfast was quite sumptuous (no bacon please…). We had dinner one night at the hotel and that was pretty good too. The hotel staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Mustafa from the front desk was a brilliant source of useful information and local tips. Can (pronounced John) from the front desk, and Sergei and Fatma from the restaurant, need a special mention and thanks for being ever so friendly and helpful. WiFi was working in the room all the time. We used the spa services once and that was quite competent and value for money. All in all, we would gladly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have an outstanding time in Istanbul and a great friendly place to come back to rest.

Great Location

Posted Apr 6, 2014
Pros: The location and nearby restaurants were perfect for exploring historic sites.
Cons: The rooms are a bit small, but typical for the area.
Location: All of Istanbul's famous historical sights are nearby. Also we liked the Babylon Restaurant next door- great food.
The hotel has a great location in the old town area of Istanbul. It is two to three blocks from the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sofia. Also the street is full of restaurants, and good food is not a problem. The hotel staff was quite helpful setting up guides and tours. They made for an easy stay. Loved their breakfast.

Pros: The sauna and Turkish bath are excellent and seem largely unused.
Cons: Not every room has a view; it's just not possible, but you will want to ensure you know what you're getting.
Location: AyaSofya, Sultan's Mosque, Basilica Cistern, waterfront of the Golden Horn.
I wanted a place in the historic heart and this place fits the bill.
