“Pretty Darn Good”

Great value, comfortable and relatively clean rooms, top floor lounge area with a great view of a nearby mosque and the water near the Bosphorus. It's in an incredibly convenient location a few blocks from the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and Hippodrome area, and no more than 15 minutes walking to the Grand Bazaar or to the piers at Eminonu. Highly recommended, no complaints.

Don't rely on staying in this location as we were moved elsewhere. Suitable but not what we reserved.

“Hard to find and NOT worth the effort”

We weren't expecting much for a budget hostel in the heart of Sultanahmet and just wanted a clean and convenient place to sleep. It took us 20 minutes to find it because there was no signage (and only then with the aid of a helpful local). We knocked on the non-descript door and a man peered out the ground floor window before opening the door, showing a construction site. My wife and I stared unbelievably at the workmen building the staircase and thought we must have made a mistake. The man introduced himself as and welcomed us to the "hostel". Since it was late, my wife and I thought we might as well see the room and stay the night. To be fair, the en-suite was almost finished and was in reasonable condition. The bathroom was a bit smelly but the room had a TV and a fridge. What bothered us though was that we didn't feel safe nor comfortable. There was no reception, the building wasn't actually finished, the half-built stairwell was dangerous and there was no staff manning the place. Only afterwards did we learn that for the similar prices, there were much better hostels nearby.
