“Beautiful hotel in good location”

Firstly we thought we were going to be so far out of the main drag that we would have to use the tram to get to the major sights however we were pleasently surprised to find we were withing walking distance of the ble mosque and even close to the Grand Bazaar which was handy as we needed to make a return visit for more bargains!! We had a very spacious comfortable room and couldn't believe our luck. Great buffet breakfast was included. No complaints, excet would have liked to sty for longer :)

This is a well situated hotel for the sights in the Old City of Istanbul. The Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace and Aya Sofya are all within walking distance. It is a 5 start hotel with excellent facilities including a gym, small pool, sauna and steam room. Staff are friendly and helpful.

hotel location is excellent for tourist looking at historic sites. Room was good, clean and well furnished. breakfast was good, would definiteluy stay there again

“Great hotel but ....”

Hotel was wonderful but information lacking, pool looks lovely but staff unhelpful. All the time i was there never saw any one use it(4 days) and massage very expensive well more than London. City is amazing and hotel well located

“A Nice Instanbul Experience”

When I think of the term “5 Star Hotel” (which is how the Crown Plaza Istanbul Old City is classified) I expect a special and wonderful experience. It is one reason why my partner and I try to book into a 5 star hotel whenever we leave the UK to travel; I don’t think I would classify this hotel as a 5 Star Hotel. It is a beautiful hotel and very centrally located and the room staff and restaurant staff were very friendly – but I do think it was something “less” than 5 Star Hotel material. From the beginning when I asked to change rooms the front desk staff was often surly or seemed inconvenienced. The concierge seemed to have a “chip” on her shoulder and was not very helpful when we were looking for New Years Eve opportunities. The card key system for entering the rooms was not always working and seriously deficient; my partner and I had to go down to reception several times to change cards – very frustrating and inconvenient and the staff did not seem to mind that we were bothered. The room cleaners also had problems with finding us face cloths (we never got them, though they promised and even insisted they knew what they were) and could not or would not replace the bath gel during their daily cleaning rounds. So as far as 5 Star Hotel experiences, NO. 4 Star Hotel perhaps but we were expecting 5. But the pricing was excellent the location was outstanding and the bar and restaurant staff were very helpful and friendly. I would stay here again.
