Very good short walk to the major sights
Posted Jan 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Hotel is clean very well presented with modern rooms and a nice pool area. The location is good but not as central as some other hotels 15 minutes walk away from the Hagia Sophia, 10 minutes away from the Grand Bazaar. The area itself seems safe and is full of shops but one negative is there are very few restaurants close by you have to walk down to the main tourist area where there are a number of good places to eat. The pool area is nice though when we were the roof pool was closed and only the basement facilities were in use one oddity was that the pool was hotter than the spa which made it not so good for doing laps in they also have a version of a Turkish bath which was nice after a day of sight seeing. The rooms were modern we even had a glimpse of the sea over some rooftops in ours. The rooms are non smoking but you are allowed to smoke out of the window which is a bit strange it can mean you may get a room that smells slightly of cigarette smoke and opening your window can have the unfortunate effect of bringing someone elses smoke it. The beds are quite hard but we slept well on them the showers are superb though with fantastic water pressure. The staff were very accommodating the only issues we had were with restaurant recommendations they would only recommend one restaurant in the whole city who they had a deal with and the taxi they called to the airport was twice what it was on the way in. All in all I would recommend this hotel if you can get a good deal.

Far from 4 star!

Pros Good location, very close to all most must see sights, and transport is convenient, because of its proximity to the wholesale market, exchange rates are better than around the sultanahmet area. Clean rooms and bathrooms, bed comfortable but might be too hard for some. Good wifi, slow, but good, better in the lobby and the restaurant area. Restaurant food was tasty and not too expensive, breakfast was ok! Cons No complimentary drinking water in rooms, and hotel frowns on bringing food and drinks into the hotel. They were extremely economical with toilet roll and towel, we were two in the room and they left only 1 towel and toilet roll, I had to request on most occasions. Air conditioning was switched off, room is warm even during winter and opening the windows was not an option because the road is extremely busy and noisy. Horrible smell from the bathroom in the morning. Service is a bit poor, but I put that to misunderstanding , they do not speak English or any universally recognised language, if possible try not to communicate or engage! Sauna and steam room, is chargeable, only Turkish bath is free, that was misleading as website did not suggest charge. Gym area and pool opens at 10am after breakfast, pointless when you want an early morning workout before breakfast.

Great location!!

The hotel is very close to most of the tourist attractions, and like 1 min from a well networked train system. I got a good view in my room, but majority of the rooms do not have the greatest view. The morning breakfast was ok, if you like eating the same things everyday. I found the bed in the hotel to be uncomfortable (we stayed 7 days, so that made it worse). In sum, I would come back there, due to the hotel's great location.

Nice hotel

We had a very nice stay. The staff were friendly, the indoor pool and jacuzzi were excellent, however we had issues with the WI-FI and the AC in the room- but both were resolved promptly. The location of the hotel is excellent for sight-seeing as there is a tram stop very near to the hotel. Please note, there is a strict policy in bringing food and drinks into the hotel.

with in walking distance to most must-see sights

Good location Hotel and with in 15 mins of walking distance to Grand Bazarr, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia etc. Tram line outside the hotel & very cheap to get out & about but at certain times very over crowded. Hotel clean & good services with friendly & helpful staff. Good breakfast. if you like tourist locations then one for you but our next visit we will not stay in that area as very busy. But Hotel very good for the price we paid.

Hotel was well placed near the Bazar and Sultanhamet with very good access to metro and transport.Restaurant on roof terrace was very nice with views over the Bosphorus.breakfast was reasonable but they can diversify more with some continental items.Staff at reception was helpful and amiable but they need to look at their night reception staff as I found them a bit snappy and rude on the day of our arrival.

Close to the main sights

Great room, superb variety for breakfast, the pool on the terrace was a bonus during the hot periods of the day. Quite close to Hagia Sofia and Topkapi palace and on the T1 tram line. The only downside was that my bathroom had a weird smell and that it was on the pricey side. I didn't enjoy my trip to Istanbul - the hotel though was one of the highlights :)
