Good hotel close to all the main cultural attractiPosted Sep 26, 2013
Pros: Period rooms and cleanliness
Great location, superbly clean. The breakfast buffet was very extensive and would suit all tastes. My only negative comment would be to recommend that they don't charge extra for omelettes as this is not a cheap hotel.

Pros: Its historical outlook

Excellent. I would highly recommend it to other travelers who like to be within walking distance to historical sites in Istanbul.

Close to blue mosque and hagia sophiaPosted May 8, 2012 on Hotels.com
The hotel is near the eastern end of Sultanahmet and is just down the hill from the blue mosque as well as the hagia sophia. The street itself is lined with a variety of other similar sized smaller hotels and a huge number of cafes so its a pretty good place to eat and relax. Overall the hotel struck me as well maintained, clean, and pretty comfortable if not extravagant. The pictures posted on the hotel page are relatively accurate. All the staff I encountered spoke english, or as much so as you can expect in Istanbul, and were helpful. The room itself was relatively small, but the bed was quite comfortable). I wasn't overly fond of the room deco ( the one with flower pictures over each bed and pink colored sheets), but I gather it was intended, much like what you'd find at many small bed and breakfasts elsewhere. I will say that the air conditioning was incredible, I was actually freezing until I turned it a ways down and I rarely get cold. Breakfast was also good, typical fare. The only major downsides: the room safe is VERY small, at best you'll fit a large camera, no tablets, computers, etc (the staff will happily hold onto your bags and stuff while going out), also the room was prone to noise from other rooms above, the hallway, and outside (though in all fairness the latter had some sort of yearly celebration in the streets that night!). Overall the noise was certainly not bad but something to know if you are a light sleeper. A good experience overall.

Charm by the BosphorusPosted Apr 19, 2012
Pros: The staff, the uniqueness of the bedrooms, and the proximity to everything happening in Sultanahmet
Cons: Not got double-glazing
Location: excellent for sight-seeing. Saved a fortune never having to use taxis. Trams and trains close by
Excellent location and very singularly attractive hotel, but best of all are the staff. Really friendly and cheerful, ready to help in any way, wanting you to enjoy the experience of Istanbul. Breakfasts were good. Omlettes and crepes cooked to your liking. Perhaps the toilets in our room could have been spruced up a bit, but any criticism is wiped out by the way you are treated. Perfect for sightseeing all the big venues, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Basilica Cistern etc. virtually round the corner. Railway station just five minutes down the road. Restaurants abound up the street, and food is excellent and reasonably priced. Perfect for a week's visit or shorter. Maybe not so grand for kids, but couples will appreciate it. Breakfast waiter football fanatic. Could list Scottish Third Division teams in the correct order! Definitely go back.

Location great,food not so.Posted Oct 1, 2011
Located near several landmarks. Easier to walk than to take taxi but take a map with you as it is easy to get lost. A taxi ride took about 30 minutes to a place (Grand bazaar) that was about a 15 minute walk. This was due to gridlock. 2 taxis refused to take us to the hotel because of the traffic. Breakfast was very ethnic but fresh. However, making an omelet was not their forte.Orange juice tasted like Tang. Coffee was strong but good. Hotel was not inexpensive,we could have found a nicer place for less.Steet traffic was heard but not a significant problem. Nice old furniture, but not a lot of space as compared with American accomodations.

Excellent locationPosted Apr 27, 2011
The best of the hotel is the location and the guys at the front desk. You can walk to the main attractions in Sultanamed square as well as to the restaurants. The guys at the front desk are very helpful and speak good English. Breakfast is good and there is a variety of good quality pastries, and you can also order ommelets. The rooms are very small for American standards, we got a double bed in a tiny room and we would bump into each other and into our luggage all the time. Since there are only a few rooms we were not able to move to a bigger room.

Great Time, Wonderful HotelPosted Apr 25, 2011
This small, boutique hotel met all of our needs. The desk staff were extemely helpful, and went out of their way to help us at all times. They were knowledgeable and tried hard. Darussaade isn't a big hotel, so don't expect big hotel amenities, but do expect personal service from people who go out of their way to do an excellent job. We felt at home.

Great Small Hotel In Old IstanbulPosted Mar 9, 2011
The Darussaade Hotel Istanbul surpassed all my expectations. The hotel is located close to many of the major Istanbul tourist sites. The hotel is very modern, well appointed, clean and comfortable. The drawbacks were minor in nature. The management and staff were friendly and eager to help. Advice with regard to locations to visit and services in Istanbul were accurate and extremely helpful. I recommend the hotel highly and would stay again.
