“Charming hotel very near the main attractions”
This hotel was lovely, the staff charming and the breakfasts on the terrace overlooking the sea to one side and the Sultanahmet to the other were terrific. Room had TV and aircon and our own little garden (rooms higher above had balconies). Airport transfers were very handy and they offered to help arrange sightseeing if required. Very close to the Blue Mosque but could hardly hear the calls to prayer. Handy copy of Time Out Istanbul which can be borrowed from the reception "library". Lots of cool mini leaflets about local attractions, basic vocab, history etc.
“Between the Mosque and the Deep Blue Sea”
Have learned to be suspiscious of reviews that are too glowing but this place -especcially for the price- deserves it. Had been on the road for two rough weeks when i arrived and it provided a much-needed respite: clean and comfortable. The stairs-only may be a negative for some but i was on the top floor and loved it! Overlooked the Marmara Sea from my room (also over the train tracks which didn't bother me). The staff, especially the front desk, went above and beyond, helping with phone calls, special requests, etc. Good -if typical- breakfast on the top floor with a terrific view of the Blue Mosque. Great way to start the day! Compared to other hotels in the same price, this was a gem. It's perfectly located for the major sights but ask for very detailed directions when booking.
“It does the job: Good base: Somewhere to sleep:”
3 nights stay in Istanbul, the hotel was clean and tidy, staff were very helpful. Breakfast was included in the price and was better than what was expected. Distance from the blue mosque was only approx. 5 - 10 min walk and it is very easy to get around from the hotel. There is a railway line that is at the rear of the hotel that doesn't operate from 12am - 7am. Overall, a pleasant stay and comfortable room with clean bathroom and a working tv and fridge.
“Charming hotel beneath the Blue Mosque”
A quirky little hotel converted from a merchant's house in the back streets of Istanbul just below the Blue Mosque. A "real" location for those who really want to see the city and not just other tourists, but feels entirely safe. 5 minutes from Sultanahmed Square and the trams. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was on the roof terraces which overlooked the Blue Mosque on the one side and the Bosphorus on the other. You had to watch your head as the doors onto the terraces were only some 1.2m high! Airconditioning was much appreciated. Not for the elderly, no lift and 4 storeys
“Great location!”
Great hotel within a short walk of all the attractions of Sultanahmet. Very helpful staff, delicious breakfast on the terrace. We stayed in 3 hotels managed by the same people. Expedia gave us the best rate. Ask for room away from the railroad tracks.
“Great Trip”
Nice location and hotel
“most cheerful hotel”
Staff are super cheerful, helpful, friendly, sociable, and considerate. My room had some problems before i arrived, and they made all the arrangements for me to stay at another just across the street, and then transfered my bags when my room was ready. Transfer to and from the airport was very much worth it as well.
“Good staff and nice room”
Just stayed at the Deniz Konak last week. The room was a good one, spacious, clean with tub, shower and mini-bar. 5-10 Minute walk to Aya Sofya, Topkapi Palace and the Blue Mosque not to mention the rail system which can take you over the bridge to the more modern side of town. A very friendly and helpful desk staff. I'm pretty picky and had a really good stay there.
“Excellent Stay in Istanbul”
The hotel was very nice, we stayed in house 2, which is right next to the check in house but has a larger balcony. Both houses have a delicious free breakfast buffet every morning. The rooms were nice and hotel cleaning staff were excellent. Very convenient to Blue Mosque, Hippodrome and Hagia Sophia. A little further to the tram stop. Good location overall. One small complaint, although I clearly showed up to the check in desk with two people, when I tried to check out they claimed I only reserved for one and charged me a (surprisingly) trivial amount. At least they were nice about it.
“Outshined Istanbul 4-star hotels by far. Personal Customer Relationship is main priority”
Though we've stayed in higher star rated hotels in Istanbul, they do not compare to the personal, friendly experience we had at Deniz Houses. It is obvious that developing a customer relationship is their top main priority, and goes beyond mere customer service, into a total positive customer service experience. Staff is extremely helpful in every aspect. We came back and stayed again, and were repeatedly impressed. We intend on returning to Istanbul, and when we do, Deniz Houses will be our preferred stay.
