Well positioned, attractive hotelPosted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Everything, especially the ambience, the garden and wonderful conservatory. The Staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was well equipped.
Cons: Nothing really. Surrounding streets are a bit seedy, but it's a working class area and can't be changed.
Location: Good location, close to tram & Grand Bazaar. Short ride to Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Hagia Sophia, Bosphorus. Great restaurants nearby, ask concierge.
The Enderun is a small, well-run hotel, close to the tramline and major attractions - the Grand Bazaar, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, etc. and not far from the water. The streets around lack charm as the area is full of small businesses and workshops. And cats! The interior decoration of the hotel is stunning, especially the ceilings, like a stately home. There is a delightful garden complete with fountain, and a large glass conservatory for breakfast or coffee. Breakfast is varied and plentiful, a good spread. The staff are most obliging. Some have more command of English than others. Half a mile away, (downhill,) is an amazing cluster of restaurants - 52! Other small eateries on the short distance to the tram for a reasonable meal. Istanbul seems to have occational blackouts - no worries, the Enderun has a large generator which cuts in immediately. The hotel also has a lift and good airconditioning and wi-fi. And a delightful lounge to relax in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Nice hotel with a few quirksPosted Oct 11, 2014
Location: It's just down from the trolley line and the surrounding buildings are a bit dilapidated but this is the norm in the old city and we felt very safe.
The room was lovely, one of the nicest we stayed at in Istanbul and a bargain for the price. The staff was fairly attentive though only one person spoke fluent (or close to) english which led to a couple brief mis-understandings with requests. The room doors were a bit hard to make sure they were closed since they were more of a old mansion style rather than a secure hotel door but it wasn't a worry since they have 24hr reception. We felt very safe and comfortable overall.

shoddy versionPosted Oct 7, 2014
Pros: Classical interior decoration.
Cons: demonstrate proper room size
Location: Busy traffic at two blocks away . Many restaurants within 10 minute walking.
I booked and paid for the room I choose with the Expedia , when we checked in , they give me a very small room with twin beds and the bath room was built inside the room. We are very disappointed.

Boutique hotel 3 blocks from Grand BazaarPosted Oct 5, 2014
Pros: Location very close to Grand Bazaar shopping and balcony views
Cons: Not all rooms have lovely balconies - request upper floors away from street noise .
Location: In the heart of old Istanbul so all the sights are accessible.
Small intimate hotel with variations in rooms. Well maintained and spotless . Lovely green courtyard with fountain for breakfast or to relax . Rooms are smaller with double beds and showers. Staff were excellent . Upper floor rooms have balcony with spectacular view of Bosphorus .

Beware - Hotel ployPosted Sep 30, 2014
Cons: The honesty and integrity of the hotel staff.
When arriving at the hotel we were told our room had been flooded and we needed to move to another hotel for the night (a hotel arranged by them) because all other rooms were booked. We were promised that our room would be ready the following night (which it was). We were not in a position to object so reluctantly went along with it. The other hotel arranged for the night was terrible, extremely tiny, much cheaper and very, very disappointing for us. After talking about our experience to some of the Istanbul tour guides later that week we were told this was a regular ploy by some hotels who book your room out to another customer (probably paying more for it), pretend there has been some flooding, move you some where else cheaper for the night and pocket the profits. Not nice for unsuspecting Expedia clients.

Room sizePosted Sep 21, 2014
Our first room was lovely and spacious with a balcony. On our return, we were allocated an extraordinarily tiny room, which for 2 adults and luggage was a very tight squeeze

I was blown away by the decor, space, and overall quality of the rooms. The staff were so helpful and kind, and the hotel was located quite close to the centre. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone! :)

lovely stay at endurunPosted Aug 11, 2014 on Hotels.com
endurun is located walking distance from everything in an authentic part of the city. it is a lovely hotel with a beautiful garden which is perfect for both breakfasts and relaxing after a day touring. we were particularly impressed with the staff, especially the manager, levant, who made our stay so pleasureful. his smile and his warm embrace to us and all his guests made the stay quite memorable. thank you, endurun, for showing us istanbul at its best!
