Good enough but could be betterPosted Oct 31, 2013
Pros: Beautifully decorated with very individualised furnishings & accessories. Staff very friendly & helpful.
Cons: Air conditioning not working! Floor boards very creaky. No iron in rooms or in hotel at all! Breakfast very average.
Location: Round the corner from a nice/interesting area but a little out of the way itself. However it was still close to many places to visit.
Istanbul a great place to visit - fabulous sites/sights - people very friendly - food good & not expensive - beer reasonable price - wine expensive - lots of restaurants - good value - tram easy & useful - must haggle over purchases - do not accept first, second, third etc price! Hotel - Room 302 great size, bathroom tiny! Rooms 202 & 203 much smaller but with better bathrooms. No bar.

I, cautiously, recommend it!Posted Oct 10, 2013
Pros: Neighborghood, Cleanliness, and the Staff.
Cons: Creaky floors, and a better safe box is needed! Also the breakfast menu was quite repetitive!
Location: A lot of sightseeing, shopping, and almost everything to try in Istanbul.
Very good and nice neighbourhood, nice and kind staff, but two very important points! VERY CREAKY floors, you can't sleep after 7 am if you are on the first, or second floor! We lost C$200 in our safe box! once we forgot the password and one of the staff came and opened it very easily! Such a safe box!!! But in general, as we are not sure how we lost the money, the room was clean and comfortable, and in general it is worth!

Nice room in centre of SultanahmetPosted Jul 10, 2013
Lovely little hotel right in middle of sultanahmet. We asked to change rooms as the original had window directly onto dining area with the tea and coffee serving station against the window. Sure it would have disturbed us a lot. However we were moved without fuss. Toilet cistern was leaking onto bathroom floor. Room safe was not affixed to anything. Dining area was a lovely little courtyard. Great for breakfast. Overall though a nice reasonably priced room right in the centre.

Surrounded by the Artistic Soul of TurkeyPosted Apr 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
We had a good stay. The room is basic. The cabinet shower is good but tight for larger folks. It is the decor which delights. The artistic soul of Turkey surrounds one from the ceiling to the floors and includes the textiles used in the draperies. The breakfast is excellent and the staff was helpful.

Very clean, comfortable hotel. The room wasn't as large as I had hoped, but it was very comfortable and the price was right. The shower was pretty small, but again, for what we paid, it wasn't bad for Sultanahmet. The highlight of our stay was the breakfast, which was varied and delicious. Our last night there, we were kept awake most of the night by construction outside our room, but the hotel couldn't have controlled that. The bed was very comfortable and the heat worked fine. WiFi was a bit spotty in our room, but we could always get a signal in the common area. Also, there is a TV in the room, but it's not plugged into anything, so I'm not sure what we would have done with it. Very convenient location to see the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, less convenient if you're trying to get to Taksim. The walk across Galata Bridge is nice, particularly if the weather is fine. For a first visit to Istanbul (when you're trying to really see the historic sites), this was a great value.
Top floor a MUSTPosted Jan 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
Spent the 1st night on the 1st floor. The noise was awful - the floors are wood and creak terribly so you do not want anyone above you. Spent the 2nd and 3rd nights on the top floor. Great view, no noise, and had a wonderful time. Location is great in the old city. Breakfast is very good and fresh. Service is excellent - don't be surprised if the hotel staff is waiting out front when you arrive in a taxi to take your bags and pay the taxi if you don't have any small change at the time (they trust you - just pay them back later when you have small change). I recommend the hotel as long as you get the TOP floor (it is worth it)... otherwise, bring ear plugs.

Great hotel but snug roomPosted Jun 7, 2012
Lovely hotel in a great location. Only a few minutes walk from a number of key sights and the tram stop. Also in walking distance from the Bazaar district. Great breakfasts too. The hotel was well kept with outdoor tables and a roof terrace. The room was on the snug side and the shower was tiny (and I am 5ft and a size 8!)

Excellent hotel, we really enjoyed our stay. The decor was amazing! The only down side, but really to be expected was the old creaking wooden floors throughout the hotel You couldn't hear other guests talking but you could hear them walking around on every floor. However this fact will not stop us from returning to the hotel and as I said before we really enjoyed our stay!

Absolutely gorgeous boutique hotel excellent lctnPosted Apr 2, 2012 on Hotels.com
I had a wonderful stay at Erten Konak. The decor is artsy, antique and adorable. The room was moderate in size but clean, well furnished and the bathroom was clean and well maintained. The surrounding Sultanahmet neighborhood is lovely, and the hotel is very close to the Blue Mosque, Arasta Bazaar and all other must see sights. I would definitely reccomend this unique hotel for anyone looking to stay in Sultanahmet.
