“Garden House Fan”

We enjoyed our stay and the services provided. The people especially the manager and porters were wonderful. It was a peaceful setting with a nice garden area to rest with complimentary coffee, tea and biscuits (cookies). They provided excellent transfers from airport, sea port to and from their hotel. Our guides they provided were excellent. Be sure and ask for Numan and tell him Mississippi sent you. Be sure and carry an address card with you as our taxi driver had trouble finding it. We only used one when we were tired and coming back from the spice market. Most places are in walking distance. Wonderful breakfast.

Near the Blue Mosque
When to go
September and October are their busiest time as the weather was wonderful. It was crowded especially in the markets. We were there Oct 1-3 so maybe a little later. The crowds weren't really a problem. There are long lines at some of the sites. Remember to check opening hours and days of the places you want to visit.

“Will definitely go back!”

We love to explore a city on foot, and this hotel was perfect for us. We could walk just a few blocks to Istanbul's most famous sights such as the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, and also spend hours exploring the city's fascinating nooks and crannies that we'd come across at every turn. Then we'd come back to the hotel for a restful hour or two in the lovely garden courtyard where we could have a cold beer and a snack, enjoy the peace and quiet, do some journaling, and get ready for our next jaunt. It was also nice to have a restaurant right in the hotel for the evening or two when we lacked the energy for going out. The hotel staff helped make it a great experience - they provided maps and brochures, recommended and booked tours and performances, and arranged airport transportation.

Sultanahmet - the heart of the old city.
When to go
September is wonderful - we had a week with every day sunny and 85 degrees.
Dining
Be sure to check out the rooftop patios that many restaurants have - great views from up there!

“Small hotel near all the sights”

Small hotel with friendly service, great breakfast spread every morning on the outside terrace, and a short walk to the Blue Mosque, Topkapi, and Hagia Sofia. The room was small but clean, and the complimentary bottle of wine and water on arrival was a nice touch. Thanks for a great stay!

Getting around
Be sure to bring the hotel's card with you when you go out for the day - all taxi drivers we encountered did not know where it is and did not speak English.

“Wonderful Staff”

The hotel was very charming, clean and comfortable. The staff could not be more helpful. There is always a very nice bar and restrauant area with good food.

Area recommendations
Sultanahmet. This is the area where you can walk to the major sites in Istanbul.

“Beautiful hotel in Sultanamet Istanbul”

The staff at the Gardenhouse was extremely helpful, from the first inquiries on email, to arranging for a car from the airport, to holding the luggage after check out. The location is great. They gave us a new beautifully decorated room, with a king size bed and a separate seating area. The courtyard area was relaxing and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again. Watch out for Istanbul taxi scams; arrange for taxis through the hotel. They know who is reputable.

Area recommendations
Sultanamet is the most interesting area to me. Most of the interesting sites are within a 10 minute walk. On this trip, I went to the archeological museum and the mosaic museum, where the mosiacs are in situ, as laid centuries ago. The layers above them were just removed so we can all see them.

“Can't beat the location or the service!”

Staying at the Garden House was the perfect place to recharge after a day out in Istanbul. The management couldn't do enough for us and upgraded our room and attended to our every need. The rooms were spotless. The garden was delightful and the breakfast great! Our location was just down the hill from the Blue Mosque. We walked there in 5 minutes! I will definitely stay there again!

Area recommendations
Sultanahmet is the location to stay if you want to be within walking distance to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia and other tourist attractions. It is also easy to get the tram, tunel or taxis from there to anywhere you would like to go including ferries across the Bosporus which is not to be missed!

“You will not regret if stay in Garden House! Is really nice and cozy place.”

My first impressions of Garden house hotel are just excellent!!! Place is very nice and cozy, all stuff are so hospitable, friendly and helpful! Location of the hotel is also comfortable and close to the Sultanahmet center. Next time when I am in Istanbul I will stay in Garden House for sure!

“Very lovely hotel, friendly staff, perfect location!”

The title captures the essence of our experience at Garden House Hotel. It is lovely hotel with comfortable rooms and perfectly located in the old city (Sultanahmet) within 5m walking distance of the Blue Mosque. Furthermore, the staff is very friendly and made our stay in Istanbul was enjoyable (e.g. great suggestions for dinner locations and sight-seeing). We will definitely go back!
