Centrally located, great value for moneyPosted Jan 2, 2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness and the comfortable bed.
Cons: The walls are paper-thin - we could hear EVERYTHING that was going on in next door's bathroom!
Location: Really central: walking distance to the Ayia Sophia, Grand Bazaar, Galata Bridge, Blue Mosque, Basilica Sistern & all the other sites!
My husband and I stayed at the Agan for Christmas 2013, and would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a base from which to explore Istanbul. Trams stop at the top of the road, the metro station is less than 5 min walk away, as is the stop for the Marmaray, and you can easily walk to the Spice market in under 15 mins. All the sights of Sultanahmet are VERY close by, and it won't take more than a quarter of an hour to get to the Grand Bazaar or across the Galata Bridge either. We paid a little more for a room upgrade to a suite, and I'm very glad we did - the rooms themselves must be very small if the one we had was a suite! However, having said that, it was very very clean, and the bed was super-comfy. Just what you need when you're coming back after a hard day of sightseeing. Breakfast was buffet style and always plentiful, although we could have done with some fruit juice (I've never stayed at a hotel that doesn't offer it!). To be honest, we didn't spend an awful lot of time in the room, as we were out and about exploring the city - if that's what you're keen to do, it's the perfect base for your holiday.

Small hotel close to scenic sites. Good breakfast.Posted Nov 14, 2013
Location: Most scenic sites are in the walking distance.
Rooms of the hotel were small. One side of the hotel (face the alley) was noisy in the evening. Staff (front desk) were very nice and friendly and very helpful. One one small elevator which can only accommodate max. four persons in one time.

Great location. Walk to all attractions.Posted Nov 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great location, close to Metro, walking distance to most of must see sights. Good breakfast. The room is small, but clean. Some noise from the street at night, If you need a quiet room to sleep, it is not what you want.

The included breakfast was strictly for the Turkish appetite- 7 kinds of olives, stewed eggplant and rubber boiled eggs. The shower only had one door, the other had been broken, removed and not replaced, although glass fragments remained. The evening meals in the restaurant were salted to the point of being inedible- ate there once only. The TV had about 80 channels- every language in the western world except English. Would I stay there again? Dont think so, although location was great- very close to major sites.
